Founded in 1879, Chown Hardware is the industry leader in high-quality hardware.

Did you know we work with designers on both residential and commercial projects? For nearly 150 years, Chown has built a legacy alongside Pacific Northwest architects, designers, builders, homeowners, facilities directors, project managers, and contractors to honor their residential and commercial spaces with intelligently crafted and radiantly designed products. Our residential division pairs the world’s finest architecturally-inspired plumbing, lighting, and hardware with the industry’s most experienced and approachable service—simplifying the design process by locally selecting, purchasing, and delivering the fixtures needed to craft, curate, and construct spaces for modern living and gathering. Our commercial division owns the standard in products designed to meet the demands of high-traffic, day-to-day use and safety needs in commercial offices, healthcare and education facilities, and government agencies. We're the Pacific Northwest's leading provider of commercial-grade doors, hardware, and security products; providing exceptional services including locksmithing, door and hardware installation, and fire door inspections. Peruse residential products, design projects, and book an appointment at one of our three showroom locations at chown.com. Or, visit chowncommercial.com for more information or to get a quote on your next commercial project.

If you're in a pinch for some beautiful but unconventional cabinet hardware, look no further.

Nest Studio’s Pinch collection is a collaboration with celebrated New York-based sculptor and plaster artisan Stephen Antonson. Antonson created the original painted plaster designs, which Nest Studio then cast in solid brass.

Visit one of our showrooms, and we'd be happy to help you get your hands on this distinctive collection! https://ow.ly/8uox5103Q4U

Introducing one of the newest brands to join the Chown family: Balux!

This Canadian brand knows how to do concrete right. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Balux has perfected its proprietary concrete mix, incorporating glass fibers to create a material that’s lighter than quartz. UV-resistant color and six layers of sealant provide added durability and protection.

And when it comes to color, Balux puts customization at their core. With 21 standard colors to choose from, plus a fully custom color-matching program capable of matching virtually any paint color upon request, there’s plenty of room to make each piece your own.

The collection includes 20 customizable bathtub options, floating and countertop sinks, a range of bathroom accessories, and even indoor and outdoor fireplaces.

We’re so excited to welcome Balux to Chown, and we hope you are too! Contact us to learn more about Balux and explore the collection.

Chown was lucky enough to see the unveiling of Kallista's Voussoir collection during Milan Design Week in May. Months later and we’re still thinking of this beautiful piece of art.

Designed in partnership with acclaimed designer and founder of Raith Design, Richard T. Anuszkiewicz, this sink is carved from a single block of stone. The series is shaped by mass, curve, and continuity rather than applied detail. Revealed curves and front-facing carving are guided by proportion and surface variation, resulting in pieces that feel deeply intentional.

Did you know that fire door assemblies in commercial buildings are required to be inspected and tested annually?

Industry inspectors report that 75% to 90% of fire doors may fail their initial annual inspection, often due to common issues such as improper clearances, missing or damaged components, or maintenance problems.

If deficiencies aren’t corrected and fire doors continue to operate improperly, building owners may face fines, compliance issues, and potential liability exposure.

That’s where Chown Commercial can help! We offer professional fire door inspection services. With a CFDAI on staff, you can trust that our inspections are performed according to the applicable standards. Our experts will evaluate your openings, identify deficiencies, provide the necessary documentation, and suggest solutions to help you meet code requirements and keep your building safe. Once the inspection is complete, let us know if you would like us to provide a quote for repairs to help bring your openings into compliance and give you peace of mind.
