Started in 2013, Pophouse is a full-scope design studio focused on the built environment. Located in Detroit, Michigan, we work on both commercial and residential projects with a specialty in workplace, hospitality, and retail as well as home office design. Our team of designers and strategists work to positively impact people through interior, industrial, and environmental graphic design. Leveraging industry research and business intelligence, we begin every project with a meaningful strategy that informs our design narrative. That design narrative is then carried through every aspect of the project including finishes, space plans, custom furniture, branding, wayfinding, signage, and artwork to transform the space into one that highlights your culture, increases productivity, and optimizes business outcomes.

A look inside Bottom Creek 🌲

Set on 461 acres, three distinct spaces share a lakeside clearing: A two story brewery and taproom, a full-service restaurant, and an open-air pavilion.

Pophouse shaped the interiors of Bottom Creek around a narrative of effortless familiarity.

White and red oak felled during site development was repurposed into architectural columns, casework, shelving, and door frames.

Stone-edged paths, a landscaped creek bed, and a lakefront pavilion serve as central gathering points.

A two-story brewery and taproom create the backdrop for nights well spent with friends and family.

We’re proud to share final photography for a very special project, Bottom Creek ☀️ Set on 461 acres in North Branch, Bottom Creek is a hospitality campus where three distinct spaces share a lakeside clearing: a two-story brewery and taproom, a full-service restaurant, and an open-air pavilion anchored by a wood-burning fireplace. Stone-edged paths, a landscaped creek bed, and a lakefront concert space serve as central gathering points, allowing for community activations.

We are excited to share a first look at Rocket’s new office at Hudson’s Detroit. This design brings leadership, collaboration, and culture together in a space that feels both elevated and approachable. The interior establishes a visual connection to the building’s architecture through environmental graphics, materiality, and integrated brand language.

“I wanted the architecture and the design details to be of the period but less serious and more unexpected in my furnishings,” Gilbert says of her Palm Beach residence. “I love fine art as well as craft and feel the lines can be blurred, what really resonates with me is color and surface, how those translate to texture and form.”

“When Jennifer Gilbert first stepped into the living room of a 1922 oceanfront mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, designed by Marion Sims Wyeth, a premier architect of the area’s Gilded Age glamour, she knew it was for her.

‘This was a dream project for me,’ she says. Gilbert personally curated every room, mixing distinctive one-offs and vintage finds—like a pair of 1950s Italian side tables in the living room she had recently bought at a Paris flea market—with vibrant works of modern and contemporary art culled from her vast collection of over 500 pieces.“
