I was going to post these & list these on fb yesterday, but I was fighting for my life on the couch all day really sick, so since I’m feeling better today here are some stills of all the details of this super unique indoor/outdoor mobile bar that fits a fridge + this gorgeous fun shaped end table that will both be listed on local Denver fb marketplace today ✨

I was looking for Halloween costumes for my kids at the thrift store & knew as soon as I saw this unique, beautiful piece I had to take it home and fix it up. It was wobbly + some of the wood was nicked so I originally thought I was going to do a fun tile pattern on top, but when I wood filled & sanded it down the wood was so gorgeous I knew I had to keep it as it is, so I stained it Dark Walnut. I nailed the legs in better + painted them a lovely light grey purple called Intuitive & now it’s a brand new piece ready to make someone’s home even more homey {this + the mobile bar will be listed on the local Denver fb marketplace tomorrow}.

I’m still working on the bar I took apart this week to make it something new, but I also wanted to share these stills of my friend’s shiplap wall we made in her house a while ago & how much just adding a simple texture to a wall can totally transform a space. I redid her old fireplace & turned it into a shiplap wall with custom mantle + shelves last year, so she wanted this angled wall that you can see from that room shiplapped as well to tie them together. It didn’t take long at all & then she added this cedar wood piece as a coat/backpack hanger for her kids that also ties together the colors of her custom cedar stain I made for her mantle. It all flows together, looks so much more modern because we squared off the weird wall angle + now has a more practical use for her family 🎒

I made my teenage son these super easy wall shoe hangers recently because he’s been collecting shoes so much lately (& apparently they have to only be black or white). I wanted to share because they’re so easy to make + don’t take up much space at all compared to the shoes laying flat. I used 1x2 boards stained in black cut to size with two more 2in 1x2’s nailed into each other as the side + back that’s screwed into the wall. They’re secure & can easily fit as many shoes as you want to keep them all off my son’s floor 👟

This one was different than my usual builds because it was unbuilding a bar in someone’s basement. He contacted me about just taking this giant bar apart so they could use the space differently, but then suggested I take it with me if I wanted to resell it so that’s what I’m doing since I’ve been doing that lately anyway! I got to use a lot of muscles to unbuild it, learn from whoever originally built it (which felt a little sad to take it apart but I’m reusing most of it anyway) & am so excited about what else I can do with it, so this was a challenging but fun one for sure. Stay tuned to see what it becomes next…

Took two barstools from our old basement bar & turned them into two new plant stands 🪴 The last two fun pieces I made from old furniture sold so quick, so I’m really into taking something old apart to give it new life right now. I think these stands would look adorable in any room + the smaller square one could even be a stool if needed. They were both repainted in lovely Prickly Pear green with Rustic beige stained tops that were sealed & small cut out flowers on the two tiered one, they’ll be listed soon if anyone local to Denver is interested!

Because old but cute furniture headed for the landfill deserves some color + new life ✨I found this awesome nightstand with 4 cute little drawers at a thrift store & immediately knew it would look so good with some fun clay color. I also added some cute cut outs from my favorite wallpaper that match the vibe perfectly. Then I had an old plain white kitchen cabinet that I cut up into a fun shape, added wallpaper + trim to the top, 2x2 feet to the bottom and faux wood to the back so it could be a bookcase or bar. I love reimagining plain furniture into something more modern, fun & colorful because it’s a great way to build without making something from scratch, makes a completely custom piece of furniture you can’t buy anywhere else and saves old furniture from being thrown away. Both are listed on local Denver fb marketplace {$50/each}.

Now that I’ve touched or painted every wall in my whole 1960’s ranch house (that used to be entirely two tones of grey), I just wanted to share the top 8 Valspar colors I’ve used to connect both floors even though they have different feels. I’m definitely a Lowe's Home Improvement girl, so Valspar has always been my go to paint option. These are my favorite neutral colors that don’t lean too cool/blue or too warm/yellow (like the white + beige I have everywhere), my favorite pops of color that still have a grayish undertone (like the blue + green I have several places) & the fun colors I only have in one room so they can be a bit brighter & louder (like the purple + clay colors). Save this if you’re looking for just the right shade of one of these colors I would obviously recommend because paint can totally transform any space & using the same color in different parts of your home is a good way to tell a whole color story throughout 🎨
