Projects Can Wait - Memories Can’t

After taking a much needed hiatus from social media, this chapter of my life looks a little different. While I still love power tools (and it’s not like my unfinished projects are going to finish themselves), I’ve realized that building the perfect closet or bathroom doesn’t hold the same weight for me right now as building memories and traveling the world with friends and family.

Travel has always been a passion of mine, and honestly, it feels like my most meaningful project. Don’t worry, I’ll get back to DIY one of these days - but for now, I choose miles and memories over home makeovers.

I know I haven’t been around much these past two years. Life shifted, as did my focus. Thank you for sticking with me as this account evolves into more than just power tools. I hope you’ll be by my side for the miles, the memories, and the moments that make this life worth building.

Our sweet, beautiful friend Kelsey is in the fight of her life after being diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia - a rare and life-threatening condition where her body stops producing enough blood cells.

After moving across the country this past year to start a new chapter, Kelsey and Brandon are now facing a terrifying new reality and a tough road ahead - one that will require them to spend time away from their two precious girls, River and Aspen, (who Marcus and I absolutely adore) as Kelsey undergoes a bone marrow transplant.

As you can imagine, the emotional and financial toll is heavy.

Here’s how you can help:
— Donate to their GoFundMe for medical, housing, and travel costs (link in bio): https://gofund.me/1c54e24d
— Donate blood or platelets at your local Red Cross
— Register as a bone marrow donor
— Reach out if you have any housing leads in Baltimore!

This diagnosis is terrifying, but Kelsey is full of strength, faith, and determination to fight for her family and her future. Please send prayers, love, and support their way.

✨Even a simple change can make an impact ✨

Swipe ➡️ to see the before progression of my master bath. I originally replaced the builder grade wall length mirror with shiplap, new light fixtures, new fixtures, cabinet hardware and two smaller circular mirrors. I eventually found the mirrors to be too small for the space and too high (I’m only 5’3” on a good day), so I swapped them out, finally hung my towel bar in the middle, and installed new faucets.

What do you think about the new look?! Next up - adding color to this space - please share ideas!

- Mirrors on Amazon storefront.
- Towel bar

Thanks to for helping me hang the new mirrors!

Let those kids draw on the walls with permanent markers - I promise it pays off!

Can you believe my 8 year old not only conjured up the idea for a mountain wall mural in his room (after the hyperspace peel/stick wallpaper was a major fail), but he also did it himself!

We found a mountain drawing online, got a projector on Amazon, and he traced the lines with a silver sharpie! This was one application where our nasty textured walls actually made it look better!

Then he decided last minute while adding glow in the dark starts that he wanted to add constellations and zodiac signs for his family members ❤️

✨feeling like we’re in hyperspace ✨

It feels like just yesterday this amazingly kind, sweet natured, funny soul chose me to be his mom - feels like we are in hyperspace speed because he’ll be 8 years old in a few short weeks 😳🥲❤️🎂

Here’s to hoping he loves this Star Wars room transformation birthday present for years to come!

Accepting design ideas for my master bedroom - especially that dark wall.

I moved my Margot Loloi Rugs rug in here from the living room and I’m LOVING IT with my new Flooret Nakan Signature flooring - so that is staying!!

Def gonna paint the ceiling and walls white to start, add baseboards and I have a surprise element I’ll also be adding. Ideas?! Full accent wall? Half shiplap accent wall? Wallpaper? Trim windows out? Flip the ikea dressers?

Never in a million years would I have imagined I could do this - I ran 10.46 miles today. It’s amazing what you can do when you’re determined to heal!
