Club/Light Touring Bike — New Build, Report #4
At this point it's almost beginning to look like a bicycle frame.

Mark Nobilette Expedition Touring Bike — Professional Photos
by Louie Schwartz
The photos of this Nobilette posted on October 3, were essentially snapshots taken by John Drake of Tangent Cycles while he was assembling the bike. I thought they were very nice photos, but they were fairly low-res (John emailed them to me in one batch).
All 10 of the photos in this post are the work of Louie Schwartz. It is my understanding that Louie is a professional photographer. There are lots more photos of this Nobilette and others on his Flickr Page — https://www.flickr.com/photos/bikeworks/

Resto-Mod Paint on a Vintage Mercian Vincitore
I'm not sure of the actual build date of this Mercian Vincitore, but it is early enough that the only braze ons it had were a rear derailleur cable stop and a nub under the DT to prevent the shift levers from slipping down the tube. If I had to guess I'd place it as being from somewhere in the late ’60s to the early ’70s.
When it arrived in my shop, it had the full compliment of braze ons you see in the photos and a rattle can paint job.
Here's how it looks now —

Mark Nobilette Expedition Touring Bike
My last post featuring this bike was back in July after I had finished the paint work. Consequently, a review may be in order. Mark Nobilette (IMO, one of the best frame builders working today) built the frame, fork, stem and racks. The project was a custom order for a customer of John Drake at Tangent Cycles in North Carolina. I was chosen to do the paint after Joe Bell and Peter Weigle (and perhaps others) declined. In any case, John Drake has been working diligently on the assembly. I know from experience, bicycles like this do NOT go together over night! There are countless details upon details that demand attention. Earlier this week I reached out to John and asked how it was coming along. As you can see from these "quick pics" (his words), it's almost there.

Club/Light Touring Bike — New Build, Report #1
This bike will be built with relaxed road geometry, comfortable gearing, built in lighting and clearances for fenders with 700C x 38mm tires. Gear will be carried in handlebar and/or seat bags.

This post details the steps in preparing a vintage Prugnat lug.

Harry Quinn Track Bike Circa 1970
Quinn was a prolific and well known builder based in Liverpool, England. The frame came to me for some minor repairs and a complete repaint.

Classic Club Bike, Report #18
& More Media Coverage from MADE 2026
First thing Sunday morning at MADE, their official photo crew picked up the Classic Club Bike to be photographed. I checked the MADE website a number of times in the ensuing days, but didn't find the photos. Fortunately, Chris Blanford from First Hand Framebuilding knew where to find them and sent me a link the other day — THANK YOU CHRIS!!! They're lovely photos, but sadly I don't know the photographer's name so I am unable to cite a photo credit.

New Build — Classic Club Bike, Report #17
& More Media Coverage from MADE 2026

This video was filmed/produced by Russ from Path Less Pedaled along with sponsorship from Velo Orange. It's a fairly lengthy video, but it does a great job capturing the vibe and the scope of MADE. I suggest that you watch the entire video to get the full effect, but the section on the Club Bike starts about 43 minutes in. BTW — I love the choice of the leading thumbnail!
