Before. Vision. Reality. 🏙️

Featuring Northgate I in Camden, NJ. Swipe to see how an architectural vision became reality!

Great design isn’t always about building something new. Sometimes it’s about reimagining what’s already there. Affordable housing preservation plays an important role in strengthening communities, extending the life of existing buildings, and maintaining access to quality housing. At KMA Design Studio, we approach preservation projects with thoughtful renovations that breathe new life into existing spaces while supporting the people who call them home.

Matt McMahon is an Architectural Designer in KMA Design Studio’s Commercial Studio. He recently celebrated his 5-year anniversary at KMA. With eight years of architectural experience and two years in millwork design and engineering, he brings a diverse skill set to the team. Matt earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Philadelphia University. His work includes architectural documentation, conceptual renderings, and construction administration. One of Matt’s favorite projects at KMA is the Vare Community Center, which was especially rewarding because of the facility’s positive impact on the surrounding community. Matt particularly enjoys the early stages of the design process, when space planning and conceptual renderings help transform initial ideas into a vision for the finished space. We are grateful for Matt’s creativity, technical expertise, and contributions to the KMA team over the past five years. Congratulations on this milestone, Matt!

As daylight shifts, so does the way we experience a space. When designing a project, color, materials, textures, shadows, and architectural details can look dramatically different from afternoon to evening. That’s why it’s important to envision a project for more than a single moment in time.

Architectural visualization allows us to explore how natural light moves through a space and how artificial lighting transforms it after sunset. By designing for the full day, we can create senior living environments that remain comfortable, welcoming, and engaging from morning to night.
