The last.
Timing is funny and God is kind.
The crew in the field wrapped up harvest tonight…right around the time I was throwing the last of the year’s blooms on the compost. A close to a chapter on both fronts.
There is plenty of post harvest work - fall tillage and field work, cleaning and maintaining equipment, sorting grain storage, digging and storing dahlias. But this week was a big push and we accomplished a lot.
I’m humbled and grateful for this life, and this work. Even more special is the privilege to do it with my best friend and our awesome family.
I’m going to try to remember to post in the off season. About my favorite bouquets, highlights of the season, future plans and stuff. For now, we are getting ready to dig dahlias and do the rest of the prep work before winter. 🫶
