A Mahjong Christmas, color-drenched in burgundy! ❤️🎄

I’m excited to share the mood board for my tablescape at this year’s Holiday Tables at Mark Arts! This is my first time participating in this special event, which features a curated collection of imaginative tablescapes designed by some of the area’s most creative hosts and hostesses. Everything in my space will be available for purchase (message me if interested), and guests will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite during the event!

My tablescape brings together two things I love: Mahjong and creative paint finishes. Imagine rich burgundy tones and festive holiday touches coming together to create a bold, color-drenched setting perfect for Mahjong and holiday entertaining. The result is a beautiful custom table with hand-painted textures and artistic details that reflect the heart of ColorFaux Creations.

Join us November 5th through 8th at Mark Arts to experience all the creativity and holiday inspiration in person. I can’t wait to share my finished tablescape with you! To learn more and see the full event schedule, visit https://markartsks.com/holiday-tables/

An unused bonus room, reimagined as a dedicated space for Mahjong! This project was all about bringing together color, texture, and personal touches to create a room that feels both playful and thoughtfully designed.

We started with a warm caramel grasscloth finish on the walls, adding rich texture while complementing the natural bamboo in the chairs. To bring the colors together, we refinished the homeowner’s existing black distressed cabinet in a softer pink, giving the piece a fresh look that feels right at home in the space.

Next up is a custom Mahjong table that became the perfect statement piece! It was finished in a vibrant hot pink grasscloth texture that mimics the look of fabric and complements the homeowner’s beloved zebra chairs. To complete the look, we carried that same hot pink onto the wooden chair frames, tying the entire table and chair set together.

From the walls to the furniture, every finish was chosen with the bigger picture in mind. The result is a one-of-a-kind Mahjong room filled with personality, warmth, and custom details that make it uniquely theirs.

My creative process is centered around collaboration and designed to bring your vision to life while ensuring the final result feels right for your space.

1. Inspiration – it all starts with inspiration. Maybe you've saved an image you love, noticed a finish that caught your eye, or simply want to bring more warmth, texture, or character into your home. This initial conversation is where we start exploring possibilities and discovering what inspires you, and for some, my existing samples provide all the inspiration needed!

2. Consultation – Next, we meet to get to know you, your space, and what you hope to achieve. We'll dive deeper by discussing your style, the feeling you want to create, and how the finished design should complement your home. This conversation provides the foundation for a finish that feels personal and thoughtfully considered.

3. Design Direction – With a clear understanding of your vision, we will determine how to bring it to life. This includes selecting the colors, textures, materials, and application techniques best suited to your space. Every detail is considered to ensure the finish feels cohesive with its surroundings and reflects the look we've discussed.

4. Application - With the finish approved, the artistry begins. Each layer is carefully applied by hand using specialized materials and techniques to build the desired color, texture, and dimension. This is where the vision takes shape through thoughtful craftsmanship and attention to detail.

5. Finished Space - The final result is a custom finish created specifically for your home. Every color, layer, and detail comes together to complement the surrounding space, creating a distinctive focal point that feels intentional, timeless, and uniquely yours.

From the first spark of inspiration to the final brushstroke, my goal is to make the process collaborative, personal, and rewarding. No two projects are exactly alike, and that's what makes each one so special.

Every finish brings its own character to a space. From the organic texture of grasscloth to the subtle movement of lime plaster, each technique offers a unique way to introduce depth, warmth, and dimension. At ColorFaux Creations, finishes are layered and customized to complement the space, creating a look that feels intentional, timeless, and entirely one of a kind.

Every project begins with a conversation. From exploring samples and discussing textures and colors to understanding the vision for your space, the process is centered around what inspires YOU and how you want your home to feel. Each finish is then thoughtfully crafted by hand, with layers of color, texture, and detail tailored specifically to your space. The result is more than a beautiful finish. It’s something personal, intentional, and entirely your own.

One finish, three spaces. This custom finish was carried throughout three areas of this home: the powder bath, a feature wall in the primary bedroom, and a feature wall in the small bonus room just off the bedroom.

Built with four layers, three types of plaster, and five different colors, each step of this beautiful finish brings its own texture and color, creating depth and dimension that continues to reveal itself as you look closer.

The original concept was designed with a horizontal application, but when we turned the finish vertically, the texture took on an entirely different character. The homeowner loved how it began to mimic the natural look of tree bark, especially alongside an art piece she planned to incorporate into the space. I love when a finish evolves during the creative process and becomes something even more personal to the home.

Faux finishing can be so much more than an accent wall. From walls and ceilings to cabinetry, furniture, fireplaces, range hoods, garage doors, and even outdoor spaces, there are endless ways to add texture, character, and a custom touch to your home. The best part is that every finish can be tailored to your space, style, and vision, creating something that feels intentional and completely your own.

Not sure where to begin? That’s where I come in. Getting started is easy, and I’d love to help you explore what’s possible for your space. Send me a message to get started.
