Today we want to tell you the story behind the name on the jar.
Every candle we make starts in the same place — Montana. 🏔️🌿
Our families have called this state home for several generations. We grew up here — in the seasons, the landscapes, the kind of places that get into your bones and never quite leave. The smell of a campfire on a September night. The way the mountains look right before the first snow. The sound of a creek in early spring when everything is just waking up.
We didn't grow up thinking about candles. We grew up thinking about home and family. What it feels like. What it smells like. What it means to belong somewhere so completely that the land itself becomes part of who you are. 💛
That's where Rustic Roots came from.
In 2020, Chelsea started pouring candles in her home kitchen as holiday gifts with a simple belief — that a scent can transport you. That lighting a candle shouldn't just make your house smell nice. It should make you FEEL something. A memory. A place. A moment you didn't even know you were holding onto. 🌿
Every scent in our lineup is a piece of Montana. Yaak Campfire. Kootenai Forest Pine. Alpenglow. Montana Huckleberry. Townsend Gold. The names aren't just names — they're places we've stood, mornings we've lived, feelings we couldn't let go of. 🏔️
This is more than a candle company. It's our roots. And we pour every single one by hand, in small batches, right here in Montana — because that's the only way we know how to do it. 🕯️💛
