We are excited to see progress on our rugs for a very special Spanish revival home!
Merida’s commitment to artistry and supporting a local economy in Fall River is admirable.
I was fortunate to speak with Sylvie Johnson, their head designer who put it quite simply.
While she derives her inspiration from nature and the practice of permaculture- her goal is to “create something bigger than her”

So much to learn from these wonderful women - Catherine and Sylvie - I truly admire your commitment to craft and artistry

Not everything has to be something.

Indulge me

Contemporary interiors are experiencing a reckoning. The new buzz words are vintage and with that come the brands and makers. A Perriand, Jeannette or a Royere have to take center stage to complete the curated collectors look.
That’s the new trend.. so how do you break away from using identifiable vintage pieces in excess?

If you find yourself in Vienna. Do not miss this incredible building Secession built as the Temple of Art.

The laurel tree motifs and dome signify the Union of Art and life as well as the return of the vital of art and culture.

Architect Joseph Maria Olbrich 1897

Beethovenfries

I do hope you experience this for yourself - there is a delight and surprise in the novelty of the moment accompanied by Beethovens Ninth symphony

The building is unlike anything I have seen before. You experience the restraint

The decoration is intentional. You can truly focus on it without the chaos or over indulgence of buildings from the neoclassical period
Every detail is considered and precise

I was advised to walk around it - unlike other art centers
It completes the thought process inside and out

I couldn’t help but feel truly emotional. The power of art and connection is vital to the human experience

Measured and whimsical decoration- a truly delightful experience
