๐โโ๏ธ REMEMBER THAT BIG POOL RENOVATION WE STARTED LAST FALL? WELLโฆ HERE IT IS! ๐ฆ๐
Hi everyone!
Some of you may remember the rather LARGE pool renovation we started last fall. We've had people wondering whatever happened to that project, and we're excited to finally show you the results!
Well we got back and officially closed this beautiful pool for the winter yesterday, but not before getting some final photographs of the transformation!
And what a transformation it has been!
This pool began its life as an 18' x 36' inground diving pool, complete with a big, white fiberglass staircase tucked into the shallow-end corner.
There was just one little problemโฆ
Our homeowner absolutely HATED those steps! ๐
She had always dreamed of having a beautiful sun ledge where she could relax and enjoy the water. So when she asked whether we could replace those old steps with something she'd actually love, our answer was simple:
OF COURSE WE CAN! And while we're at it, how about adding some bubblers to make it even more fun?! ๐ฆ
Now, here's where things got interesting!
Because this is a diving pool, we couldn't simply install a sun ledge and new steps inside the existing pool. Doing so would take away valuable swimming space and potentially create a safety hazard near the diving area.
And, well, we generally prefer that our customers enjoy their pools without bumping their heads on the steps! ๐
So what did we do?
We cut out the entire shallow end of the pool, removed those dreaded fiberglass steps, and extended the pool by FOUR FEET!
Yep. FOUR FEET!
That gave us the room to create a beautiful new sun ledge with bubblers and integrated entry steps while preserving the pool's diving area.
But we weren't finished!
Our homeowners also disliked the original deep-end wall ladder. So we removed it and incorporated two new deep-end corner exit seats, designed to provide an alternative means of exiting the deep end.
And then we turned our attention to what makes everything work behind the scenes!
โ๏ธ THE EQUIPMENT GOT SOME LOVE, TOO!
We upgraded the pool's circulation and water-treatment equipment with:
๐ง A new energy-efficient variable-speed pump
๐ง A mineral purification system
๐ง An ozone/UV supplemental sanitation system
๐ง A new extended auto cover fabric.
๐ง A new custom colored winter cover for the new size.
These upgrades are designed to improve water quality, reduce energy consumption, and help minimize the amount of supplemental pool chemicals needed.
When properly maintained, these systems can make pool ownership more enjoyable while helping protect the pool's surfaces and equipment from the effects of unnecessarily aggressive water chemistry.
And yes, the pool still requires routine testing, and balanced water but our homeowners are never weekly shocking their pool, adding algaecides and are they will have chlorine levels so low that we can almost not even test for it! But, even the fanciest equipment doesn't replace good pool care! ๐
THE RESULT?
A completely reimagined swimming pool featuring a larger footprint, beautiful new entry area, relaxing sun ledge, playful bubblers, upgraded deep-end exits, new liner, and modernized equipment.
Take a look through the pictures! We've included photographs from the beginning of construction all the way through the finished project.
You'll see just how much work went into making this transformation happen.
