Cooking Chemistry: The Secret to Perfect Pasta 🍝🔬

Ever wondered why restaurant pasta turns out perfectly every time? It’s all about understanding the science behind the process. At Matthew May's Teaching Kitchen, we love to explore the hows and whys, not just the how-tos.

By applying simple tips rooted in culinary science, you can elevate your homemade pasta dishes to a new level of deliciousness.

1. Salt your water generously before adding pasta. This helps flavor your noodles from the inside out.

2. Avoid adding oil to the water. It can keep sauces from clinging to your pasta.

3. Reserve a cup of pasta water before draining. The starch-rich water is great for emulsifying and thickening your sauce. www.matthewmay.org

Savor the Journey, Not Just the Destination 🍳✨

“Cooking is like painting or writing a song. Just as there are only so many notes or colors, there are only so many flavors. It's how you combine them that sets you apart.”

At Matthew May's Teaching Kitchen, every class is a celebration of creativity and discovery. Like a canvas coming to life, the culinary experience is about enjoying each moment, from the first chop to the final bite. www.matthewmay.org
