Some places never get old, no matter how many times you’ve seen them 🍂

In 2023, I was making my way home from a road trip to Colorado when the Black Hills decided to welcome me back in a dramatic way 🙌🏽

I’ve photographed this exact stretch of Spearfish Canyon more times than I can count. I’ve always loved the composition, but the conditions never quite came together in a way that made me want to deem it as print worthy. Until this moment!!

A massive storm rolled over the canyon, bringing some really interesting cloud formations that were moving fast. Autumn hadn’t quite arrived yet, but the sky came correct and stole the show!

It’s funny how you can photograph the same landscape for years and still discover something completely new about it.

In the fall of 2016, I spent three months living out of my Honda Element with no real destination in mind. I was road tripping, photographing landscapes, following whatever roads looked interesting and letting curiosity decide where I went next.

Eventually, I just kept going north!

Somehow, that wandering landed me in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies during one of the most fleetingly beautiful times of the year 🙌🏽

I hiked into Larch Valley toward Sentinel Pass, just as the alpine larches had reached their brilliant golden autumn color. The first snow of the season had fallen the night before, dusting the enormous Rocky Mountain peaks in white. The contrast was unbelievable! Golden larches covered the valley like tiny highlighters while fresh snow traced every ridge and layer of the mountains above them. 🍂🏔️

I remember standing there thinking it almost didn’t look real. This remains one of the most incredible hikes (and landscapes) I have ever experienced! Looking back, I think part of what makes this photograph so meaningful to me is that I wasn’t chasing this exact scene cause it’s not like I planned a trip around Sentinel Pass. I didn’t even realize it was going to be peek colors upon my arrival, nor did I really know where I was going next 🤷🏼‍♀️
I simply kept wandering north and happened to arrive at this brief intersection where autumn in Banff met the first signs of winter.

So I call this panoramic piece “North Until Gold”

Two years ago, I had the incredible opportunity to spend nearly a month exploring South Korea with my family, and it’s still one of my favorite places I’ve ever traveled.

Beautiful landscapes, incredible people, amazing food, and a culture I absolutely loved experiencing. I’ve been dreaming about going back ever since. 🇰🇷

I was a couple days into backpacking the Cloud Peak Wilderness with my best friend and had every intention of photographing Lost Twin Lakes beneath the stars. Instead, the clouds rolled in and pretty much shut that idea down.

Thankfully, we had one more night!

The following evening the sky cleared. I headed back out with my camera and flashlight, set up along the lower lake, and captured these 10-second exposures 🙌🏽 What a sweet little treat!

I already loved this place during the day, but standing beside that lake soon after the sun went down, surrounded by the Bighorns with nothing but the stars popping out and shooting overhead was a completely different experience.

Every art festival artist knows these words!

9 times out of 10, they disappear into the festival abyss, never to be seen again. 🫠

BUT… every once in a while, against all odds, THEY ACTUALLY COME BACK. 🙌🏽 And I’ll admit, those are some of my favorite sales. ❤️

No hard feelings either way 💁🏼‍♀️ but if you’ve ever said “we’ll be back” at an art festival… just know the artist definitely remembers. 😂

Utah has officially made its way into the collection and honestly…I can’t believe it took this long.

I captured this back in 2017 while living out of my Honda Element for months at a time, bouncing from place to place throughout the West with a camera and no real plan besides chasing light and landscapes that made me feel something.

While exploring Arches National Park one evening, I stumbled onto this overlook that seemed to hold everything at once 😍 the layered desert terrain, the arches, and the La Sal Mountains glowing in the distance beneath one of the softest sunsets I’ve ever witnessed out there.

This piece is called Glow of La Sal over the Arches.

Also introducing something new:
