Renderings created for our Monte Sereno project. Using renderings to help our clients visualize their home is such a valuable tool. 💙

Coming soon to my Noe Valley clients ♥️

05/01/2026

The first Monday of 2026 begins with lighting being installed on a project we’ve been working on since the end of 2021. It’s a project that has unfolded slowly and thoughtfully—and has been a joy every step of the way.

These clients (who are also good friends) and I have now worked together on three different homes. Over time, we’ve built not just spaces, but trust. They have patiently walked through the imperfect process of construction alongside me—collaborating with the architect, builder, and the many skilled trades it takes to bring a home to life. We each have our roles, and while we aim to work in unison, there are always stumbles along the way. Always. Delays happen. Plans are misinterpreted. Things go sideways. And often, my role becomes one of problem-solving and reassurance—reminding my clients that we will get through it and I in turn, have to rely on the relationships with furniture makers and trades people to pull us through.

This past year especially reminded me why I love what I do. I had the privilege of working again with five clients I’ve collaborated with over the last 15 years. One long-term client has included home refreshes, a kitchen remodel, a bedroom with custom furniture, art sourcing, (they invited me to go to Seattle with them to select art from Dale Chilhuly glass studio!) and now, I’m working with their newly married son on his very first home. That kind of relationship is really meaningful to me.

What I’ve learned is that the creative and technical processes of building a home—especially one with custom details—can be imperfect and frustrating. But I’ve also learned that out of that process come friendships, shared pride, and homes that are deeply personal. Spaces my clients helped create—collaborative, beautiful, and lived in for years to come… at least until the next idea for a refresh begins!

As I step into 2026, I feel incredibly grateful. For my clients. For the trust they place in me. And for a career that allows me to do work I truly love. Cheers to the start of the 2026 work week.
