My heart is broken over the flooding tragedy unfolding in our beloved Texas Hill Country.
Lives were lost, people and animals were injured, property was destroyed and families are missing their loved ones.
I grew up going to Hunt’s Mo Ranch every summer with my family to enjoy the beauty and peace of the Guadalupe River. I called it, “Heaven on Earth”. We would enjoy the cool water of the rapids, the sound of the cicadas and the beautiful evening drive into Kerrville for dinner. The day we got to pack the car up and drive to Hunt felt like Christmas morning. As a friend recently put it, Hunt is “pure magic”.
While flooding has devastated the landscape there, as well as areas closer to Austin like Georgetown and Leander, the strong spirit of Texans is shining through as recovery efforts are underway.
As the recovery and rebuilding efforts continue, Simplified Austin encourages you to help in any way you can.
