Some of my favorite projects aren’t big, start from scratch renovations but spaces that can be elevated with color to create a more personalized look and mood. Working with my pal Ferney on his kitchen with the help of completely transformed his basic white kitchen to a warm, layered room to gather. I previously used this same color Affogato in my own office and it was exactly the same kind of rich saturation we needed to balance to cobalt blue tile we recently installed.

is an eco-friendly, family run business with 300 years of knowledge in the paint and wallpaper industry starting in England and now available in the USA. In my own life, friends like Ferney that become part of my own fam get the royal treatment. 👑

Cause progress should be celebrated.

Taking a traditional home in Chapel Hill and transforming into the guest house for The Woobles, is a pure lesson in color. Even colors I myself have never used before. Our clients wanted (and I quote); quirky, durpy, colorful and budget friendly. SIGN US UP! A few befores at the end to give you some context…

Even though it’s still HOT here in Charlotte, I have been fully immersing myself in all things cozy and warm as of late. Personally I am really loving the rich tones that are all coming back in full force and consider them to be timeless. I decided to repaint what was the previous craft room now turned office ceiling from a bright blue to a cocoon-like feel using the color Affogato Little Greene. This warm shade doesn’t feel heavy or imposing but helps ground the room and bring out the tones of the wood shelving unit making it feel intentional and cohesive. So now it’s a little like a nice warm hug to work in. :)

My dear firefighter friend Ferney .nc has done so much to help me out with his incredible talent over the past few years. So when he moved into his new home, I seized the opportunity to help him make it his own. My friends at know a little something about how to personalize a space. Installing their Chaine Homme tile in a combo of navy blue gloss and navy blue matte took this white kitchen from meh to majorrrrr vibes. Literally every time I use it’s a wow moment..

We secretly (not so secretly) refer to Ferney as hot firefighter. ;) Sorry ladies, he’s off the market. But if you’re in need of some custom woodworking, he’s your man. For example, he MADE the center island himself. Not too shabby, Fern.

Now have that housewarming party already, wouldya? 💙

When invited me to guest curate a collection, I didn’t start with anything other than a feeling. A loose thread. That loose place where beauty meets curiosity. That’s when art speaks to me.

Maybe it’s in an unexpected color combination, a subject that feels nostalgic in the best way, or a piece that’s just the right amount of irreverent. That’s always where home begins for me—with the art.

Because art is the thing that gives a space its pulse. Its personality. Its weird little wink.

It’s almost time the Chantilly Neighborhood Home Tour! TWO of these beautiful homes were part of Artfully Designed Season 2 on HBO Max Magnolia Network. The best part about both of these homes are the people living in them. Their homes are fun, funky, colorful and whimsical reflecting their individual styles and collected and curated interiors.
