Happy Labor Day!
Summer is winding down here in Maine and most of the clematis have finished blooming. However, I’m still finding scattered flowers here and there. Here is today’s collection:
Madame Julia Correvon
Guernsey Cream
Polish Spirit
Alba Luxurians
Pagoda
Ville de Lyon (Yes, it’s a very odd bloom for that variety. In September, I don’t turn my nose up at any flowers! 😉)

Good morning from Hummingbird Farm, where clematis Madame Julia Correvon is reaching for the sky.

This plant was cut to the ground in April and since then has been growing faster than a teenager!

Swipe through to see her first buds forming. She will open her first flowers late this month and will bloom for the rest of the summer.

Hummingbird Farm is open this weekend, 9 am to 5 pm. The humidity seems to have broken and cooler weather next week will make for excellent planting conditions.

While you’re here, check out clematis ‘Diamantina’, a lovely, reliable, double-flowered plant. Scroll through the pics to see how she has changed over the last four days!

I’m currently measuring her time in the sun and she’s looking pretty shade-tolerant.

Hummingbird Farm is open this weekend, 9 am to 5 pm both days. Come admire the fat buds on clematis ‘Diamantina’ 💜 and the first flower on clematis ‘Little Lemon’. 💛

There’s a great selection of clematis and I’m ready to answer you questions and help solve your quandaries!
