Nothing spooky about these beautifully lime washed walls… Velvet Noir from Color Atelier Paint & Plaster is the perfect amount of class and mood. It really does give almost a velvet look to the space with its soft tonal variations. Almost like magic! ✨

On this 23rd anniversary, we honor and celebrate decades of hard work, collaboration, and community. A reminder of what people can do together. In numerology, 23 is a number of curiosity, creative expression, collaboration, and freedom ~ a number that flows.

The dragonfly, suspended in the golden light above the water, offers a beautiful reflection of this journey. Known for its remarkable agility, ability to change direction with ease, and extraordinary vision, the dragonfly reminds us of the power of perspective, adaptability, and moving forward with intention. Its wings, working in harmony, allow it to hover, glide, and navigate ever-changing currents, a reflection of the balance between finding our own direction while moving with the world around us.

Community has always been at the heart of Originate. For 23 years, our shared efforts have brought people together, sparked new ideas, and strengthened the connections that help our community flourish. What begins with a single effort can grow into something much greater, creating ripples that extend far beyond us. Like the dragonfly, we continue to embrace change, find new ways forward, and move freely toward what is possible, grounded in where we began and inspired by all that lies ahead.

We Thank You Tucson, for 23 Years of Health, Home, & Well-being!

Revisiting this beautiful kitchen we really love! From custom cabinets made with salvaged redwood to salvaged backsplash tile that was leftover from another project, this space is a reminder that not everything needs to be brand new to feel special! Add in Vetrazzo ✨ recycled glass countertops and Forbo Flooring Systems Marmoleum cabinet faces, and you’ve got a design that makes thoughtful use of materials in unexpected ways.

We love when people think outside the big box stores. Sometimes the most interesting spaces come from seeing the potential in what’s already out there!

In our last post, the Vasari Lime Plaster & Paint lime paint colors that were chosen were inspired by this lovely salvaged door that was hand painted by Nicola Marshall ! The added whimsy is kind of magical. It’s these kinds of personal touches that turn a beautiful space into somewhere you can truly settle in and never want to leave!

When the customer falls in love with the process and the product equally we call that a win, win, win!

This beautiful space was brightened and refreshed with Vasari Lime Plaster & Paint lime paint in custom colors. Watch for some before and after shots to see how the spaces changes!

The review:

“The painting is amazing on the ceiling! I love it! I am so appreciative that you have these options because there is zero s**t in my lungs and in the house and in our life because of the options that you offer at Originate! “

“I am actually loving the process it’s like clay slurry so intimate and non toxic like custard you can eat. Because of you I am enjoying the PROCESS instead of the poison. It’s a HUGE improvement and it’s so fun to work with.”

We’d love to hear from you! Please share your stories and personal experiences with natural materials!

This sweet bathroom got a nice upgrade! They installed icestone Pearl Grey for the countertop, which is a mix of clear glass and mother of pearl set in a soft grey background. They also used salvaged Doug fir flooring to repair the already existing floor! Everyone loves the look of original hardwood, but so often it just gets replaced or covered up instead of fixed. And then the entire floor was refinished with Durable, Non-Toxic Vermont Natural Wood Coatings 🌱 ! We love when people take the time to salvage what’s already there!

Taking a moment for light in this living room! It is really showing off the beauty of American Clay Enterprises . The natural variation of the Enjarre finish creates so much movement and texture as the sunlight shifts across the walls throughout the day.

The walls are finished in Sugarloaf White, with the fireplace in Oyster Bay. This is such a warm, and subtle combination that feels especially inviting in this space.

Ebony would like to personally welcome you to the salvage yard, where spooky season is officially in full swing. She’s ready to lead you through the maze of old doors, windows, hardware, and other treasures to see what you might uncover!

And who knows what you’ll find… maybe an old cauldron, a mysterious cabinet, or something that looks like it came straight out of a haunted house!

Just follow the black cat. She knows where all the good stuff is. Happy Salvage Saturday!

Feeling a little fall color inspiration from these three countertops: IceStone Jade Pearl, Gilasi Tesoro, and Vetrazzo ✨ Ale House Amber.

The colors alone feel like fall, with deep greens, warm amber tones, and all those softer, earthy shades in between. But what we really love is that all three are made with recycled glass and other recycled content.

Fall is nature’s own season of recycling. Leaves change, fall to the ground, break down, and eventually become part of the soil that feeds the next season of growth. These surfaces take a similar idea and bring it into our homes, giving discarded materials another life as something beautiful and lasting!

Where are you looking for inspiration this season?
