Lake and Local Spotlight: Floors By Fred & Sons

When it comes to home improvement, the details matter, and so do the people behind the work! This week, we're highlighting Floors By Fred & Sons, a family business owned by Fred Clark, with his sons, Devon and Oliver, working alongside him.

Fred got his start in the trade by learning from a good friend's dad and discovering something he genuinely enjoyed. Today, he's working side by side with his sons, building on that experience and keeping those skills going. There's something special about a family working together!

And here's one more reason we love a family business like this. ❤️ Floors By Fred & Sons supports three separate families. When you choose to work with a local business, you're supporting real people, their families, and the livelihoods they've built. It's not just about the finished project. It's about the people behind it, too. Now that's LOCAL!

Floors By Fred & Sons offers more than just flooring. Their work includes hardwood, ceramic tile, backsplashes, trim and finish work, and new shower installations. They've also completed some fantastic shower tile renovations, transforming outdated spaces into something fresh and beautiful. Their finished projects show just how much the details can make a difference!

And when we asked how far they're willing to travel for a project, their answer was simple: just about anywhere! We asked if that meant all over Michigan and Indiana, and they said absolutely. So, wherever you're located in Michigan or Indiana, they're happy to hear about your next flooring or tile project!

At Lake and Local, we love introducing you to the people behind local businesses and highlighting the hardworking folks who take pride in what they do. We're happy to introduce you to Fred, Devon, Oliver, and Floors By Fred & Sons! ❤️

Out with the old. In with the new. We ground down the high spots, patched the low spots, installed a v***r barrier and installed the new lvp parallel to the length of the room. The old floor (the grey one ) had alkaline and hydrostatic damage due to no v***r barrier and improper floor preparation. ***rbarrier

Grinding down high spots on a concrete floor is the best approach when the majority of the slab is flat and you only need to remove minor humps or ridges. Rather than pouring a full self-leveling underlayment over the entire room.
