He used to hold the door open. Now he handles the cash drawer.

For years Jun Laingo worked as a security guard at a bank in Dipolog City. He greeted customers, watched the lobby, and dreamed of the job on the other side of the counter.

After earning a college degree in computer science, Jun is now a teller at the same branch, serving the customers he once guarded.

In one frame she covers her mouth with a shy laugh. In the next she smiles straight at the camera.

The candid photo shows Elisabeth Desta, braids loose and wearing a worn sweater, somewhere in rural Ethiopia. Posts describe the person who took it as a tourist or a traveling photographer.

Within hours the pictures were everywhere, and viral posts now say modeling agencies are interested.

His first owners gave him up when they realized he couldn't hear.

Axel was born deaf. He ended up in foster care in Florida before DC DOGO Rescue placed him with Sergeant Mollie Karazim of the Michigan National Guard.

She trained him herself, and he learned more than 50 commands through hand signals and American Sign Language.

Today he works as a unit ministry dog with the 1st Battalion, 125th Infantry Regiment.

Italy is suspending its annual car tax for 2027. About 14.5 million vehicles will benefit.

Giorgia Meloni's government approved the decree on Sept. 16. It covers gasoline, diesel and hybrid cars up to 80 kilowatts, about 109 horsepower, one vehicle per person. Motorcycles and scooters count only if the owner has no eligible car.

Second cars, more powerful models, fully electric cars and company vehicles are left out.

The government says it offsets high fuel prices. The cost is about €2.36 billion, roughly $2.8 billion, repaid to the regions. Parliament still has to sign off.

At first he thought the bundle was a discarded packet of fish and chips.

In the early hours of April 30, 1994, Joe Campbell, then 30, had used a phone booth in Forest Gate, east London, to call his mother in Guyana. When he came back around 2 a.m., he found a girl only a few hours old. He called 999 and she was placed in the care of social services. He asked to adopt her but was turned down because he was not married. He kept a baby photo of her.

April was fostered and later adopted. In 2016, at 22, she made a public appeal for her birth mother and the man who found her. "Within 24 hours Joe was there," she said. Her birth mother has not come forward.

Now 32, April calls Campbell, 62, "dad." On Oct. 5 they appeared together on ITV's "Good Morning Britain." "We are family," she said. She has started a GoFundMe to help him retire as his health declines.

TSA officers checking IDs now have to do it standing. The chairs are already gone.

The agency confirmed on Sept. 30 that officers at the first security podium must stand, calling it "a welcome change" that keeps them "on their feet and alert." Local union chapters say they got no formal notice.

AFGE Council 100 says the chairs "serve as basic ergonomic and safety support" for officers on hard floors all shift. The change comes as new Administrator David Cummins pushes his "Horizon 25" plan.
