The hunt is officially OVER! I’ve been searching for the perfect dining table since May and I was starting to think I’d have to settle for something totally run-of-the-mill (which was not the plan). My kids were even starting to complain about our office-desk-as-dining-table situation. Then FINALLY day100 of scrolling Facebook Marketplace I saw it. It’s a Henrendon from the mid 70's with such a lovely French Provincial shape (the LEGS!!), and wait until you see the parquet top! So worth the wait!!

The goal for this basement was to have an irresistably cozy hangout for the kids and family movie night. We fully embraced the lack of light and painted everything in a deep, vibrant slate blue. Sure, it's dark but oh so rich and draws you right in. Found the squishiest sofa, layered it with soft pillows and throws. A custom cabinet neatly tucks away all the components and makes the most of their small TV nook.

Started a new project in a 150-year-old DC rowhome and I am obsessed with this arched window seat. The original woodwork is so lovely (that newel post...). Our design challenge is to update it for clients with modern, California style while keeping that historic charm and grace.

Who needs a cluttered disorganized closet when you can have a jewel-box powder room?

The first floor of this cape cod was desperate for a bathroom! Since we were renovating the kitchen and could add a ton of storage there, we repurposed this inefficient closet into something much more useful (not to mention a great investment for a home sale down the road). After clearing it out, our expert reno team added plumbing, tile and all the fixtures. The final step; drenching the walls in rich green paint turned this storage space from zero to hero.

While most work days for me really don’t feel like work, it’s definitely not always the most glamorous! We certainly get our steps in, and I’ve had my fair share of bruises and nicks, paint on my clothes and an aching back from tile yards, job sites, and heavy lifting.

Case in point: wrestling this gorgeous but very heavy rug out of my car. We selected it for a client with a tricky living room layout where we layered two rugs right next to each other. Once we saw them IRL in the room, we realized one needed to be precisely 10 inches shorter to get the proportions juuust right. So, what do you do? You roll it up, load it in the car, and take it to get custom-cut. The devil is truly in the details!

A quick look behind the scenes on another ongoing transformation.

The goal for this apartment was an overall scrub to make everything feel updated and fresh after many years of our client calling this home. We are starting with a major ceiling update, scraping all the popcorn and repainting the entire space. We are also swapping out all the dated light fixtures and window treatments for a modern feel.

The bathroom is getting an overhaul with new floor tile, vanity, the ever-popular bidet toilet, and integrated LED mirrors (I've never looked better than in this mirror!).

While we are keeping many of the lovely existing furnishings, we are carefully editing the collection and adding some key new pieces to refine the color palette and style.

We are loving how this refined palette is shaping up and can't wait to share the final outcome.

No two days look the same around here, which keeps us on our toes! One day we're choosing paint and flooring, the next checking deliveries, taking measurements, installing a counter or talking through design ideas with a client. There’s always something happening!

Behind the scenes of our latest DC townhome transformation!

We are giving this main living space a complete, rich refresh while honoring our client's cherished travel collections. We started by installing all-new engineered hardwood floors throughout and giving the entire space, including the built-ins, a fresh coat of paint. To fix a fireplace mantel that was originally too high, we removed the plain black stone and upgraded to stunning natural quartzite, allowing us to lower the TV placement for a much better layout. We’ve also selected all-new furnishings to tie this unique, warm design together.

We can’t wait to show you the final reveal.
