Friday’s Feet on FUN Floors: Outdoor Shower Edition!

We usually have the most fun with tile in powder rooms, but why not outdoor showers too? A little color and pattern make this bayfront home’s post-pool rinse a lot more interesting.

Cozy By-the-fire In the Catskills Season is officially underway, and my frosted car windows in the morning are proof!

We always have such a great time working on our field trip projects. Of course, working away from home comes with its own set of challenges, especially when coordinating with contractors and delivery services we aren’t as familiar with.

But it’s also an opportunity to build new relationships, get creative with solutions, and see projects come together in a completely different setting.

When we first fell in love with this tile, we were told the plumbing fixtures couldn’t be mounted to it. So just like that, it was off the table. Unselected. Erased from everyone’s minds. LOL.

But as designers, we’re here to advocate for those tricky selections that just need a little extra creativity! The solution? Marble-matched backplates, custom routed into the tile for a seamless installation. Did everyone wish I’d just picked a different tile? Absolutely.

I stumbled upon this incredible fireplace material and immediately posted on Instagram that I was ordering a sample with a certain client in mind. Well, it’s like he KNEW I was talking about him because he absolutely fell in love!

Naturally, a little design drama followed… the material was potentially being discontinued, and NOTHING else compared. Cue the panic! Luckily, we managed to snag the very last pallet available in New Jersey, and here she is living in all her textured basketweave glory.
