Midcentury modern living

Indoor/outdoor living is one of the great gifts of midcentury modern design, and few did it better than Ralph Anderson. Every effort was made to blend the new work that was done with what was already there. Can you tell where his work ended and ours began?

We believe the harmony between the indoor and outdoor experiences of a house is fundamental to its success. Kudos to these clients who shared that vision with us!

Our clients wanted a warm, inviting home from which to view Lake Washington and the Cascade mountains. With great client input and direction we got there.

Exciting progress at a Mercer Island home

This modern lakeside home may keep a low profile from the outside, but inside, it will offer incredible views of Lake Washington through all three of its 30 feet wide sliding glass doors.

An updated Ralph Anderson home

Finding the balance between modernization and preservation is one of our great challenges and delights, and the stakes are high when working on a Ralph Anderson house. We worked with our amazing clients, consultants and construction team to bring some needed upgrades, additions, and functionality to the home while preserving the elegance that made Ralph's work so remarkable.

It is wonderful to find clients whose vision so closely aligns with what a project wants and needs. In this case, our client's sensitivity to the history and character of the existing home set the tone for the entire project and provided a compelling direction for the design and construction teams. The resulting collaboration will remain a highlight in the history of our office.
