The next chapter of interior design is all about character. At High Point Market, our team spotted a shift toward richer materials, expressive details, and unexpected combinations that make a space feel truly one of a kind.

From burl wood furniture and mixed upholstery to exaggerated fringe and trim, jewel tones, and solid, textured rugs, these are the interior design trends catching our eye and inspiring what’s next.

Why do we visit High Point Market?

Because choosing furniture is about more than how it looks. It’s about understanding materials, evaluating quality, and discovering makers whose work we believe in.

We’re back with new partnerships and fresh ideas for your next project.

A little paint and wallpaper goes a LONG way.

Inside this 1850s row house in Savannah’s Historic District, we’re bringing new life to the entryway and staircase with thoughtful color and pattern. Farrow & Ball’s Treron grounds the staircase, railing, door, and trim in a rich, earthy green, while a French landscape mural wallpaper brings a tranquil, vintage feel to the parlor with natural tones and olive greens that beautifully complement the trim.

Painting the staircase, railing, door, and trim the same color creates a sense of continuity, allowing the architectural details to feel connected rather than competing for attention. The result is a more cohesive space that lets the home’s historic character shine through.

Ask an interior designer for a paint recommendation, and chances are they have a few favorites ready to go.

Over the years, we’ve built quite the repertoire of tried-and-true shades that we find ourselves coming back to across our design projects.

From rich, moody blues and earthy reds to soft neutrals and unexpected greens, these are colors we’ve used on everything from front doors and staircases to cabinetry, trim, and entire rooms.

Each has earned its place in our design team’s paint library for a reason. Here are a few of our favorites worth saving for your next project.

One of our favorite parts of the design process: getting physical with it.

After the initial planning calls and getting a feel for our client’s vision, we start pulling samples, swatches, materials, and inspiration to build a physical moodboard for the project.

There’s something about seeing everything together off-screen that makes a difference. It lets us see how colors, textures, and materials actually interact, while giving the project a physical anchor we can keep coming back to as plans develop, paint colors are chosen, and furniture is ordered.

And, if we’re being honest, it’s also just really fun to do.

Inviting you in.

A first look at the transformation of an 1850s rowhouse in Savannah’s Historic District, where a French landscape mural and saturated green are beginning to reshape the entry and stair hall.

This is only the beginning.

This one’s for Jack + Jill.

A while back, we shared some of our favorite powder room makeovers. Smaller spaces where we can pack in plenty of color, pattern, and unexpected details. But main bathrooms are a different design challenge.

Here, form and function have to work equally hard. These are spaces often shared by two or more people every day, which means storage, circulation, lighting, privacy, and the morning routine all have to be considered before we get to the pretty stuff.

Over the years, we’ve done it all, from custom Jack-and-Jill vanities and built-in shelving to walk-in saunas, oversized showers, and freestanding tubs.

Because a main bathroom should do more than look good. It should make getting ready in the morning and winding down at the end of the day, a little easier.

Two decades of designing homes has taught us a few things.

Some lessons are practical: measure twice, plan for the unexpected, and never underestimate how heavy that piece of furniture actually is. Others have shaped the way we approach every project. Prioritizing function, obsessing over the little details, and designing for how a home will live years from now, not just how it looks today.

20 years in, we’re still learning something new with every project. Here are a few lessons that have stuck with us.
