I have another great story to tell. This is a family story. My grandmother saves a LOT of stuff. One of which has been my grandpa’s collection of ties. He was dapper in his day, or as my son Jeff said “swaggy”. Back some time ago he had a clothing store in the copper country and then was in the business where he was was alway suit and tie, thus coming to have quite a collection over time. Gram of course saved them. She is starting to “go through things” and asked me about the ties.

Our son Jeff is nearly completed law school at Syracuse and loves vintage clothing. So I asked him if he would be interested in his great grandpa’s ties. Well let me just say, he was over the moon excited. I’ve already sent 25 out to him all dry-cleaned. They turned out beautifully, Thank you Pingatores and he’s worn them in court this past week. My grandma and my mom are giddy and so happy that they are being used. I even found one with grandpa’s initials on it. This second batch pictured will be sent out today through Pack N Ship. They are amazing in the care they take with my packages. Gotta sneak some Superior Coffee in there too for studying, it’s our favorite and he still has a couple months to go!

Thanks for the ties gram and grampa you will always be remembered! Oh ya..go Cuse as little Claire says. She’s so proud of her daddy and so are we!

Update for you all on the sweet letter. First of all, the photo below is not the couple, just how I imagined the “homecoming” I read about in the letter may have been for these two little newly weds although the years don’t quite match up with the photo.

I’m happy to tell you I was able to deliver the letter to the couples grandson. He was so very excited to get the letter. Almost tearful in fact, but here’s another twist of fate… had I stopped by his house 1/2 hour later I would have missed him and maybe never had the chance to give him the letter. He had sold his home and was moving, loading the last of his items into his van.

He went on to tell me more about his grandfather and how he was quite a poet and was known to write his grandmother romantic poetry often and once wrote a poem for her for Christmas that started in the New year and ended at Christmas and was presented to her the next Christmas as a gift.

We talked for awhile, as I actually knew him from church when we were kids and had actually been in his grandparents home. Reuniting this letter to him really was something very special to me and I truly believe was put into my hands for a reason. God works in wonderful ways and I think he really needed this at this time in his life.

Sometimes very cool things happen at the store. Today was one of those “things” I happened upon a letter and me not wanting to just toss anything away opened the letter(it had already been opened of course by her years ago). Reason, it was local, and another it was very old, wondering if it was something that might be worth finding someone’s family over.

Well I read the letter and it was the sweetest little letter. Written by I think a newlywed husband to his wife who was working away from home during the week and writing his wife. He of course spoke of missing her and holding her in his arms. OMG. That did it! Gotta find someone. Someone would want this, right?

Then I start looking at the names and it triggers, I think I know these names…call my mom and ask her is this the elderly couple I remember from church when I was a little girl? She confirmed yes!!! Excitement follows!!!! Family will be found!!!! I can’t wait to give this letter to them!!! I mean I would want it! ❤️

Posting the 4 new pieces I put in the floor today. Sold the drop leaf table that was out on the floor last week and had another one in the back that needed a bit of work so finished that up. Added this adorable bistro set, a small entry table and a nice buffet done in the color Farmhouse Navy. I’ll drop some measurements in the comments under the pictures.

Still lots to see in the store. I’ll post some more pictures tomorrow.

Starting to work now on an antique dresser with a mirror and a little bench.

Finished this cute little white cabinet. Moved this great table out front and placed the two leafs in it so you could see how nice it is, no chairs to match but it might be fun to mix and match, I have had several people do this lately. Placed these beautiful vintage dishes on the table, there’s is not a full set, but if there are collectors out there or someone who wants to start their collection here you go!!! Makes a beautiful table setting.

Adding a variety of other photos as well. Working on a large piece in the back and I should have more new pieces coming in soon. The store has been busy so if you see something you like, don’t wait. 😊

Welcome October! What a glorious September we had! I sure enjoyed the extra sunshine and now the colors are starting up and the views along the roads and in the fields are beautiful! I hope you are taking some time to enjoy the fall 🍁🍂

Putting out some fall and Halloween Decor today. Added a new corner China cabinet, it’s very pretty, space safer but still can hold a lot of your treasures. There’s a pretty new mirror and a lamp and a few new pictures as well. I have a black dresser finished, just waiting on my new hardware to arrive. Looking forward to seeing you all this week. Oh and check out the vintage Charlie Brown Doll, he still has his baseball hat!!! ❤️
