They were in such a hurry to build this house, they put the siding on before the poured the stoop!

If you look closely at the newly poured concrete you can see how out of plum, their entry door is!!!! Nuts!!!

Fast forward 30 years and the stoop has settled and pulled away from the house.
Also their asphalt was sinking along the garage floor.
What did we find? The foundation block dissolved away from years of winter melt trickling down the garage floor. Check out the photo!

Very common in Minnesota!

So we came in and core filled the garage foundation block, poured a new concrete apron and upgraded the stoop with proper waterproofing behind the concrete and new compound step!

The siding will be repaired next week by Mike Creapeu at Hammered Solutions!

Homeowner education alert!

Per code your siding should a minimum of 6” higher than your landcaping(soil)!

This homeowner contacted me about installing a patio under his deck. At his, new too him, house.

The first thing I noticed is siding buried under dirt. The second thing I noticed is that the patio as the ground sat, would be higher than the siding.

I can’t tell you how his backyard ended up so high.
Pour grading when built?
Previous homeowners landscaped over existing landscaping?
Whatever the case, I told him that if he wanted us to install the patio, that we would also need to do some regrading of the yard and add some retaining walls.

So here is the results of our work.
Retaining walls will be next spring!

Not only does this really improve the look of this dated property. Now the homeowners have easy access with no steps!

The season of back yard makeovers continues!
This patio is huge and difficult to stamp. Posts everywhere, a staircase and new retaining wall, all to work around. But we made it work and turned out a beauty!

We stamped the stone arch buff colored concrete with Monterey Ashler stamp pattern. We also added a border. Plus tore out the old wood tie retaining wall and installed a new concrete block retaining wall(color buff).

Here is another backyard patio makeover.
Out with the old pavers and in with new stamped concrete.
The stamp pattern is Chesapeake random stone, with a border
The color is Dandelion.

Yes! We do install floor coatings.
Here is one we did today. This garage floor was is really rough shape. The garage lighting is not very bright so the pictures don’t show the level of spalling.
No problem, we have a one day garage coating install system to make a floor look great again.

The color of the chips for this garage is called Gravel.

Front yard makeover!
Remove and replaced the front sidewalk with stamped concrete and overlayed the existing stoop with stampable overlayment!
