Designed with entertaining and impact in mind, the space pairs a custom Italian smoked oak accent wall with plush velvet dining chairs, a substantial dining table, a colorful handwoven rug, and a gorgeous gold leaf chandelier. The rug and our clients’ own artwork unify the room’s varied colors, textured materials, and luxurious finishes, creating a space that feels cohesive without losing its individuality. As with the rest of this whole-home renovation, finding just the right place for each piece of their considered art collection was one of our favorite parts of the process.

Surrounded by generous windows, this well-appointed seating nook in our clients’ 1947 midcentury modern Raleigh home is filled with natural light and views of the surrounding gardens. A bright chair, upholstered in a golden mustard and ivory cream fabric with subtle, wavy striations, brings a cheerful pop of color to the space, while its sculptural silhouette complements the home’s architectural character. Positioned to make the most of the sunshine throughout the day, it’s a welcoming spot to curl up with a good book or simply pause and enjoy the view.

Cozy season is upon us, and we’re throwing it back to this family room in our clients’ Clayton home that feels like a warm hug.

Throughout this transitional, family-centric home, our team brought together varied textures, warm earthy tones, and collected furnishings to create spaces that feel livable yet timeless. In the family room, gray walls offer a subtle contrast to the warmth of the stone fireplace, patterned upholstery, and vintage-inspired rug. The accessorized built-ins, along with a mix of materials and classic furnishings, add functionality and interest, creating a comfortable yet sophisticated setting for gathering and relaxing.

It's a space that makes staying in feel especially inviting.

A moment for the spaces that often live behind closed doors.

Closets and pantries may be among the most utilitarian spaces in a home, but that doesn’t mean they should be overlooked when it comes to design. At CCID, we strive to bring thoughtful organization and custom details to even the most hardworking corners of a home.

From an elegant blue paint color or patterned “dragonfly” wallpaper to a distinctive light fixture, beautiful tile, or custom cabinet storage, these spaces offer an opportunity to carry the design narrative to the areas our clients rely on daily — even though they’re not always on display.

The end of September brought one of our favorite traditions of the year: the CCID Annual Studio Social.

We loved welcoming our clients, colleagues, and trade partners for an afternoon of good food, sweet treats, and even better company — all gathered in the studio where so much of our inspiration begins.

New views of this colorful bedroom oasis. ✨

With its bold fuchsia accent color, patterned organic wallpaper, and playful mix of details, this primary bedroom feels every bit as vibrant and individual as the client who inspired it.

Having designed other areas of her home years ago, we loved the opportunity to return and bring that same sense of personality to this newly expanded primary suite, which included drawing plans to determine the exact square footage needed to accommodate an enlarged closet and primary bath.

Swipe for a favorite feature in this chic loft space in our clients’ downtown Raleigh penthouse, designed in its entirety by CCID.

Created in collaboration with and NeuWave Systems, this custom walnut media console does more than house the television — it conceals it when not in use, allowing the artwork above to take center stage. For our clients, avid art collectors and entertainers, the goal was to preserve the visual focus of the room without sacrificing the technology that makes relaxing nights at home so enjoyable.

The rich walnut also ties beautifully into the nearby Italian accent wall — another one of many custom details crafted by a talented group of artisans and makers throughout the home.

A seating nook and extra storage in the guest bathroom that services the entire downstairs of our clients’ lakefront home? Yes please!

We made the most of every inch of this colorful space, creating a cozy spot to sit with custom bench cushions that introduce an unexpected layer of pattern. The homeowners’ own artwork throughout adds a personal touch, while thoughtful details make this bathroom feel considered, welcoming, and unique — qualities we carried throughout the entirety of this personality-driven, whole-home renovation.

A true classic, reimagined for our lovely retired clients at The Cypress of Raleigh.

This CCID full-house remodel brought new life to the home, from opening up the once-separate kitchen, dining, and living areas to completely gutting and redesigning all of the bathrooms. In the kitchen, dated cabinetry and lighting gave way to crisp white cabinetry, timeless Quartz countertops, and a striking black vent hood. A dedicated coffee bar and inviting eat-in area with custom built-ins make the kitchen especially well-suited to slow mornings and everyday living. Swipe to see the kitchen before!

Throughout the rest of the home, new furnishings mingle with repurposed and reupholstered pieces from our clients’ existing collection — creating a cohesive look that still feels fresh and distinctly theirs.
