Two months ago, we showed you the Exterior of the 1960s lake house. Today – the inside! Those gorgeous, vaulted wood ceilings & exposed beams are original, and we knew they had to stay.
The rest of the house needed love: new floors, new windows, new kitchen, stone on the fireplace, fresh paint – all designed to accentuate the Lake views & high ceilings, and to make space for family gatherings at the Lake! Because a vacation home should let you relax.

When we walk through a space, we see what these renderings show: the potential. We don't see blue carpets & drop ceilings (before photos); we see what this space can BECOME!

Today we're sharing the preliminary design for our new "home" in Radford & our vision for it. You can see the 3D model of the building & then some AI assisted renderings from that model.

We haven't completed the purchase yet or started demo, but the design work & pricing are well underway.

A kitchen isn’t just where you cook, it’s where your family lands at the end of each day. This is where we gather for homework, to share stories, and to laugh.

These 4 families trusted us to transform that space – and we poured our hearts into making sure each one feels like home! Which kitchen would make your family feel most at home?

We haven’t been very vocal about our September Service project this year, because it is going to take longer than a month. We have been working with the NRVHBA to design Little Libraries!! These libraries will be built in November by local Girl Scouts & then will be placed around the NRV! We are SO excited & honored to be a part of this project: designing libraries & helping girls to learn about construction!

We had a GREAT day at the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce Bocce Tournament!! Somehow, Melissa & Erik made it into the great 8 (yes, I know it’s Elite 8), before we were eliminated! Congratulations to the winners & thank you to the Chamber!!

Some homes hold a family together across generations. This lake house has done exactly that for decades.

Inherited. Beloved. And quietly asking for someone to take care of it. We completely reimagined the exterior - new siding, new windows, new roof, huge new patio - while honoring everything that made this place home to them in the first place.

That's WHY we do this work. Home is how we tell the people we love that they matter!

Enjoy the exterior transformation - the interior reveal is coming soon!

Sometimes the biggest design challenge isn’t something we create - it’s something we inherited. This wall was built 12” out of square over 40 years ago. Fast forward to today: we’re mid-construction & that decades old issue just became our problem to solve. The fix? Completely reworking the stairs to accommodate an error that’s older than any of us. This is the unglamorous side of renovation work - you have to design for what’s there, mistakes & all!

Today was a big one! 4 hours on-site with our Engineers & contractors, walking every inch of the building we have under contract. Structural, mechanical, electrical, all of it!! I got over 100 photos of the interior & NONE of the humans who were there with me. Typical Architect move! This is the part of the process that isn’t glamorous; I need to know the good, bad & ugly of what I’m getting ready to buy! There’s still more to do in our Due Diligence period & SO much to do before we can move in…
