When you have views like these, you want to enjoy them from more than just one room.

We used large windows throughout the home to bring in the mountain and lake views, then balanced them with natural stone, wood ceilings, and warm finishes. Even the office and bedroom get their own connection to the outdoors.

Modern homes don't have to feel cold.

With all the clean lines and dark accents, it's easy for modern design to feel a little too stark. For this home, we wanted to find that balance.

Expansive windows bring in plenty of natural light and make the most of the surrounding mountain views, while warm wood, natural stone, and softer finishes keep everything feeling comfortable and inviting.

You still get that clean, modern look, just with a little more warmth and character.

One of the challenges with a rambler is keeping the exterior from feeling too long and low, so we introduced more height with taller ceilings and additional windows.

This gives the home better proportion from the outside while bringing more natural light into the spaces inside.

How do you fit a four-car garage on a narrow lot without letting it take over the house?

With only about 100 feet of width, a side-load garage would have eaten the floor plan. So instead of going wider, we went deeper.

A little European character, right in the mountains.

We wanted this home to have that timeless, old-world feel without being too formal. The brick, warm wood ceilings, and traditional details give it character, while the big windows and doors keep everything connected to the mountain setting.

It’s a good mix of European-inspired design and comfortable mountain living.

This home has a little bit of everything. A sport court with a climbing wall, a space to hang out and watch a game, and an outdoor sauna and fire pit for when it's time to slow down.

What makes a home feel timeless?

Keep the shape simple. That’s most of it.

It’s easier said than done on a tight lot, when the floor plan has to fit every bedroom, office, and bonus room a family wants. This one has a lot going on inside, but we grouped it into a few clean masses and let the rooflines tie it together.

When the view does this much talking, you let it lead.

With views stretching toward Salt Lake, we wanted the scenery to show up throughout the home.

Large windows and doors keep the main living spaces connected to the outside, while traditional details give the home that classic European feel.

Split-level homes get a bad rap. But what if they’re actually the better solution?

On a sloped lot, a split level can be one of the smartest ways to build. Instead of fighting the terrain, we let the changes in elevation shape the home, giving each level its own purpose and tying them together with a central staircase.

Designing a home should start with how a family actually lives.

For this family, homeschooling is part of everyday life, so we designed the basement around it. Just off the homeschool room is a full kitchen, with a pass-through connecting the two—making everything from projects and experiments to snack breaks and cleanup a little easier.

It’s a small detail, but one that makes a big difference in how the space works day to day.
