In art related news…😸

This September and October, Bonhams is selling items from one of the most extensive private collections of cat-related artworks, decorative objects, jewelry, and collectibles: the Sandy Lerner Cat Collection.

Lerner, co-founder of tech company Cisco Systems and founder of cosmetics label Urban Decay, has been collecting feline-related objects, which she calls “caticons,” for more than 40-year years. She attributes her idea for creating the collection to being “forced to be catless,” due to her then-husband’s allergies. In a statement, Lerner said she had personally chosen every object in the collection, but “they need to be rehomed, now, to others who will care for, cherish, and respect them as icons of the human achievement and – in the case of the caticons – affection that created them.”

The fall sale, which features 1,000 lots (not all cat-focused), will take place in four parts in New York and Massachusetts.

2026 Haul: all of this has to fit in 3 suitcases and 5 carry on’s. No shipped boxes this year as Post Nord decided to get rid of their flat rate box 🤦‍♀️ Wish me luck! I may have to add a 4th suitcase but let’s see…

On my way to flea market (loppis) shopping on Sunday I was brave enough to pull to the side of the road, blinkers on, to take this shot of a run down old country store that the wild flowers this year have claimed. Such lovely wild flowers blooms this year in this part of Sweden 🌸🌼 I am fast and furious buying every single day this year (not exaggerating- every single day). I’m sorry I don’t take photos along the way! I need a social media assistant now - I’m not as leisurely buying like I was 5 years ago. Now it’s all business! But I know all of you who buy from me at Christmas appreciate my assortments! So my social media fame will have to go to the back burner for now…😅

Great read!

Despite being virtually unheard of today, New Sweden helped shape the nation's birth 250 years ago: https://bbc.in/4blHEUz
