🪱 The lighting around the developing root system is more similar to the one it will experience once potted up in a soil medium than in a clear container. This is one way to help your propagations thrive in their future soil home.

Resurrection plants aka Rose of Jericho featured here are able to dry out for years before reopening beautifully when placed in water. These plants were available in our shop for a short time until we learned they were being poached from the wild, not greenhouse grown as we had been led to believe.

We do our best to keep in alignment with Mother Earth and know our community will find us. So if you are here, welcome, we are so happy you are part of the Sacred Elements journey 🌿🫶

Plants can’t get up and run for cover when a rainstorm hits.

“Plant Memory” is the ability for plants to retain information. Beyond that, plants are able to adapt future behavior based on past experiences.

💚This is a concept we wholeheartedly believe in, as it builds yet another meaningful botanical bridge between us and the plants we care for. Let’s dig in!

🪱Plants retain information in various biological systems, often in their root structures. This incredible network is where all the magic happens! Plants store information at a molecular level and access this information to learn adapt to survive over time.

🌿In human terms, root systems can be thought of as the decision makers. The above ground or leafy part of the plant we see is only part of the whole plant story. This is why it is so important to nourish the soil, soil microbes and underground biology to provide the best possible home for roots to flourish so the plants you care for can truly thrive.

New to houseplants? We are here to help you.

Under watering versus overwatering tips.

We highly recommend terra-cotta pots for those of you who tend to overwater and ceramic pots for those of you who tend to underwater. Beyond that, the soil medium really does make a difference. If you want to water your plants often, be sure that you have a generous amount of aeration in your potting soil.

If you forget your plants, only water occasionally, try putting them in a more dense soil medium and plant in a ceramic pot. It retains the moisture more than terra-cotta pots.

Here are 5 Signs your plants are not getting enough light:
1. Stems are elongating or stretching
2. Leaves are getting smaller and/or more sparse
3. Drooping stems, leaves or an overall lack luster look
4. Leaves are pale and less vibrant in color
