No spooky songs on the new release list this week but had to make the cover shot a bit spooky.

SONG OF THE WEEK
Lady A – “Bigger Picture”
It’s been a long time coming for Lady A to release some new music, and I think they came back with a really special one. It’s a slower, more emotional song, but also one of those real-life songs that I think country music needs more of right now. We’ve had plenty of fun, upbeat releases lately, but sometimes you need a song that makes you stop and really listen to the words. This one definitely does that.
ALBUM OF THE WEEK
Dustin Lynch – Clean Slate
This album honestly surprised me. Dustin has been leaning into that EDM-influenced country sound, and there’s definitely some of that here, but there’s also a fresh direction that I really enjoyed. He’s blending country with pop and electronic production in a way that feels like he’s carving out his own lane. It’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, but I think he’s doing it really well.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
HARDY – SIDES (EP)
HARDY continues to do what he does best, mixing country with plenty of rock influence and that heavier, almost scream-along sound. I love how he isn’t afraid to push the boundaries of his sound while still keeping the songwriting front and center. There’s a lot of personality packed into this project, and it’s another reminder of how talented he is as a songwriter.
Kaitlin Butts – Hello, H***y Tonk
This debut album is just really good from beginning to end. A lot of people may have been introduced to Kaitlin through some of her more fun and entertaining songs, but this project shows there’s so much more to her artistry. Between the traditional honky-tonk sound and some deeper, more meaningful songwriting, I think this is a great introduction to the kind of artist she’s becoming.
Randy Travis – “Mission of Love”
Another beautifully written song from Randy Travis. The production takes me right back to his classic ‘80s and ‘90s sound, and I love that they stayed true to the era these recordings came from instead of trying to reinvent them. A great preview of his upcoming album Same Old Way.
