The best time to involve the furniture partner is not when the furniture order is due.

It’s earlier.

When AIR is brought into a project during planning, we can help the entire project team with:
- Preliminary furniture allowances
- Budget alternatives
- Headcount and workstation planning
- Product lead-time guidance
- Schedule risk
- Test fits and standards
- Installation coordination

That gives brokers, architects, contractors and owners better information before major decisions are locked in.

Our job isn’t to complicate the process. It’s to make the workplace portion easier for everyone involved — and help the project team avoid unpleasant surprises later.

When a company is expanding or renovating, furniture is easy to postpone.

A better approach is to establish a preliminary workplace budget and furniture plan while the project is still being designed.

You don’t need every finish selected.

Have an expansion or tenant improvement in early planning? AIR can help establish a preliminary workplace budget before the drawings are complete.

Sometimes, doing your best work starts with taking care of the person doing it.

Today is Trigeminal Neuralgia Awareness Day, and for AIR founder and owner Jacqui Sabo, this day is personal.

Jacqui was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia in June 2022. Since then, living and working with a chronic facial pain condition has reinforced something she already believed deeply: well-being isn’t separate from the work we do. It supports our ability to do it.

For Jacqui Sabo, IIDA, MBA, that means returning to a few foundational wellness principles:

Rest. Movement. Nutrition. Community.

They help her continue leading AIR, showing up for clients, doing meaningful work, and, most importantly, being present with her family.

Community has also meant having trusted resources. The Facial Pain Association provides education, support, and connection for people living with neuropathic facial pain. During October’s Facial Pain Awareness Month, the organization is encouraging people to share their stories so others navigating facial pain know they aren’t navigating it alone. Facial Pain Association.

At AIR, we talk often about creating environments where people can feel healthy, connected, and empowered. For Jacqui, those words aren’t simply part of our work. They’re personal.

Today, we’re sharing her story to help bring greater awareness to Trigeminal Neuralgia, and to recognize the importance of giving people the support they need to thrive.

October is Manufacturing Month. For growing manufacturers, office space is often one of the last pieces of an expansion to get serious attention.

That can create avoidable problems later: rushed furniture decisions, unclear budgets, long lead times and spaces that don’t support the people running the operation.

AIR helps take responsibility for the workplace side of an expansion, from headcount planning and preliminary budgets to furniture standards, installation and phased delivery.

The goal is simple: keep your operations team focused on opening and running the facility, not managing furniture details.

If an expansion, relocation or new facility is on your 2027 roadmap, the workplace plan should start earlier than you think.

Waiting until construction documents are complete to discuss furniture can leave owners with three unpleasant surprises:

𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁. 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲. 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗲.

Early workplace planning can establish a credible starting point using:

• Headcount and anticipated growth
• Office square footage
• Space types and furniture standards
• Project schedule
• Reuse opportunities
• Installation requirements
• Budget priorities

The objective isn’t to select every chair on day one.

It’s to give leadership enough information to make better decisions while there is still time to make them.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁: AIR can provide an early furniture-budget and schedule review for qualifying expansion, relocation and tenant-improvement projects.

For brokers, architects and general contractors, furniture can become one more variable affecting a client’s budget, schedule and move-in date.

A strong furniture partner should reduce that uncertainty—not add to it.

Early in a project, AIR can help provide:

• Preliminary furniture budgets
• Allowances per employee or square foot
• Test fits and planning support
• Lead-time guidance
• Budget alternatives
• Schedule-risk assessments
• Client-ready visuals

That gives the project team better information before the expensive decisions are locked in.

Our goal is simple:

𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁—𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱.

If you have a client planning an expansion, relocation or tenant improvement, AIR is happy to be a resource early in the conversation.

Furniture is often treated as one of the last decisions in a facility expansion.

That can be an expensive mistake.

Long before installation day, someone needs to answer questions like:

• How many employees will the space support now and later?
• Which areas require standards versus customized solutions?
• What are the real product lead times?
• How will installation coordinate with construction?
• What happens if the schedule moves?
• Which spaces need to be operational first?
• Is the furniture budget realistic for the project scope?

Getting AIR involved earlier helps turn those questions into a plan.

𝗪𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆.

Planning an expansion? Start the furniture conversation before it becomes a schedule problem.

As Labor Day approaches, we’re reminded that great workplaces aren’t created by furniture alone.

They’re created by understanding the people who use the space every day.

The best commercial environments support both sides of the equation:

-Employees need spaces where they can focus, collaborate and feel comfortable.

-Companies need workplaces that support efficiency, culture, recruitment and growth.

At AIR, we believe those goals shouldn’t compete.

The right workplace can do both.

This Labor Day, we recognize the people who keep businesses moving and the leaders working to create environments where they can do their best work.

Because when people flourish, companies have a better opportunity to thrive.
