Hi there! This is my actual list for the season—all the little things I want to do this Samhain. So far, I’ve completed numbers one through six!
1. Fill my favorite spaces with pumpkins, flickering candles, and the rich colors of the final harvest.
2. Gently cleanse my home with crystals, herbs, incense, or salt. You can line a windowsill or sprinkle a little salt near your doorways. I put mine in the small space above my door, between the frame and the wall.
3. Make a simmer pot with apples, oranges, cinnamon, cloves, rosemary, or anything else that makes the house smell warm and welcoming.
4. Cook a comforting seasonal meal. I made my mom’s chuck roast with potatoes, and I’m happy to share the recipe!
5. Make simple crafts using herbs, pumpkins, miniature brooms, and other little treasures gathered from nature.
6. Take an autumn walk and collect fallen leaves, branches, pinecones, or stones to bring a bit of the season indoors.
7. Write down something I’m ready to release, then safely burn or tear up the paper as a symbolic farewell.
8. Reflect on the year behind me and set gentle intentions for the slower season ahead. I’ll probably do this in the shower while using a really fun pumpkin scrub I recently found.
9. Honor a beloved pet or loved one who has passed by creating a simple altar of remembrance with a candle, favorite treat, or meaningful keepsake.
This is my favorite time of year, and I’m always looking for new inspiration. What would you add to my list? I would genuinely love to hear what you’re planning to do this Samhain.
