We're up to a whole bunch of creativity, connection, and delicious fun! Here’s a peek at what’s keeping the Apropos Design team busy:

🪟 Learning the details! We’re helping our awesome intern, Kat, build her window treatment knowledge while introducing her to our industry reps during Customer Appreciation Days at Window Wares. We love sharing the people and resources that help bring our designs to life!

🛁 Bringing a Ginger Cove remodel together! We’re sourcing finishes and furnishings for a primary bedroom and ensuite bathroom with Gitt Construction, Inc and Cabinet Design Studio—thoughtfully selecting the details that will make these spaces feel cohesive and personal.

📚 Creating a sanctuary in West Shores! We’re transforming a bedroom into a moody retreat and library tailored to our client’s lifestyle. An especially meaningful detail...Sourcing artwork from cities around the globe to complement her World Marathon Majors (WMM) medal display. We love designing spaces that tell our clients’ stories! 🏅🌎

🌶️ Adding a little spice to our week! The team is having a blast at the Professional Remodeling Organization of Nebraska and Iowa Annual Chili & Bevy Contest—with a costume contest to top it off! This year’s best costume goes to our FANTASTIC Executive Director, Sarah “Dolly Parton” Waters! 🤠🎤

A big thank you to Gotcha Covered and Forsman's Finest Decks for cohosting such a fabulous event. Nothing like good food, great company, and a little friendly competition to bring our industry together!

*What Are We Up To Wednesday?!*

Help us welcome Kat, the newest face at Apropos Design!

Kat joins us as our new intern with a degree in Video/Audio Communications and is currently taking college classes toward her Interior Design degree. She also serves as the student representative to the board of our local ASID chapter—we love seeing her get involved in the design community!

She loves a moody design vibe, asks awesome questions, and brings genuine curiosity and enthusiasm to our work together. We’ve really enjoyed having her join us for client meetings, share her thoughts, and contribute ideas and selections for client projects.

Supporting the next generation of designers is important to us, and it’s especially rewarding when we get to learn from their fresh perspectives, too.

We’re so glad you’re here, Kat! Join us in giving her a warm welcome. 🩷🤘🏻

We're planning window treatments… but first, we need a window.😂

We’re assisting Gitt Construction, Inc and Cabinet Design Studio on a lakeside project, and that lake view is already stealing the show. Our job? Figure out how to frame it without upstaging it.

For now, we’re calling this look “extremely open concept.”

We're designing with some of our favorite Fall color palettes that have a way of making a home feel more inviting.

At Apropos Design, we believe beautiful interiors should do more than look polished—they should create an emotional response. The colors, textures, and finishes you live with every day shape how a room feels when you walk in: whether it helps you relax, gather, recharge, or feel inspired.

This season, we’re drawn to palettes that feel warm, layered, and timeless:
*Terracotta, deep teal, and oxblood for richness and personality
*Moss green, walnut, aged brass, and creamy stone for a grounded, nature-inspired feel
*Olive, camel, warm white, and marble for tailored softness
*Charcoal, oak, woven neutrals, and mineral tones for calm, architectural warmth

The goal is never to make a home feel “fall themed.” It is to use the depth and warmth of the season as inspiration for a space that feels personal, livable, and enduring.

We're reminding you, your bathroom carpet called, it said "EW!"

This guest bathroom was a true time capsule—complete with 1970s carpet underfoot. While we can appreciate the era’s fearless style, a bathroom floor needs to stand up to water, daily routines, and real life.

For this remodel, the goal was more than simply “updating” the room. We focused on creating a space that feels:
• Unique and thoughtfully layered
• Durable and easy to maintain
• Functional with easy care and maintenance
• Timeless enough to enjoy for years to come
• Inviting and alluring experience for guests

We are readyyyyy to design your bathroom remodel!! 🙋‍♀️⁠

Warm neutrals, brushed gold hardware, and a curved vanity that feels more boutique hotel than "just a bathroom." This primary suite went from builder-basic to a spa you never want to leave — double vanities, a walk-in shower with dual shower heads, and a linen tower with enough storage to actually keep the counters clear. Every detail was chosen to fit how our client actually lives.⁠

We’re sharing why utilitarian rooms should be part of the overall design story and never ignored. This stunning and inviting multi-purpose laundry room/mudroom makes mundane daily tasks enjoyable and provides a space that works as hard as your family does.

This custom walnut suite carries the same warmth and craftsmanship from the sink all the way through the laundry room and mudroom — dark granite composite sink, richly stained walnut cabinets, brushed brass pulls, and gorgeous black-and-gold quartz that turns a hardworking bench into a statement piece.
