Have you ever seen Bittersweet growing in the wild? You'll typically find it in rural areas growing on roadsides, up telephone poles or other trees. And never easy to get to. I remember years ago finding it on the roadside on Cape Cod and nearly lost my life in the ditch it was growing out of. Every year at the Fisherville Fall Antique's show a woman shows up with bundles for sale. I thank her every time for what I know to be very hard work in pulling all that Bittersweet briar off the poles and trees.

Bittersweet is toxic to animals so not recommended in the home with pets.

When I spotted this 19th century wood storage bin at Fisherville, the 4 seasons played out thru my head. Imagining an items use is not unusual for me when I decide to make a purchase. Whether I imagine it in my own home or in someone else's, it's styled in my head before it's purchased. Weird, I know, but it's how I'm wired. Today I foraged some Fall foliage for what will be the first of many seasonal displays, just as imagined.

Perfect little faience porcelain boards for serving up little tidbits. You can find these in my Etsy shop, link in profile. Search breakfast boards.

Gave a 1980s stairway a completely new vibe. Still traditional but with less stodgy finishes. Swipe to see the before. TIP: Don't be afraid of black. Black anchors a space, preventing light or warm neutral palettes (like beige, cream, or taupe) from feeling washed out or bland. It pairs well with warm woods, brass hardware, crisp whites, and organic textures.

Elegance is in the details. Beautifully tailored custom drapery and thoughtfully layered bedding bring softness, sophistication, and a sense of quiet luxury to a room. It’s these finishing touches that make a space feel truly complete.

I did my share of supporting small businesses today at Lucketts, and if the huge turnout of people did the same then the dealers did very well. Honestly, I've never seen Lucketts so packed. If you attended what were your thoughts, and if you were a dealer did you feel the joy?

Project underway. The gritty gutting where you learn all the secrets the walls and floors have been hiding. Turning this large primary bath into 2 baths to accommodate the teen age kids.

A little wild, a little whimsical, and full of joy!

There’s something wonderful about gathering whatever the garden has to offer and letting nature do the arranging. Fading hydrangeas, black-eyed Susans, wispy grasses, and all those wonderful textures coming together in the most imperfectly perfect way.

A reminder that beauty doesn’t have to be carefully planned. Sometimes the happiest arrangements are the ones that simply happen.

Changing it up a bit with these Robin egg blue pumpkins. I salvage stems from pumpkins and gourds to use to replace the fake ones, a bit more chic don't you think?

It’s the little things that make a room interesting. 🤎

A collection of small treasures sourced over the weekend, each with its own character, history, and charm.

I’ve always believed that refreshing a space doesn’t have to mean making big changes. Sometimes it’s the smallest details that make the biggest .

Tuck them into a bookshelf, layer them on a mantel, or add something unexpected to a tabletop vignette. Mixing old with new is what gives a home its warmth, depth, and individuality.

And the thrill of finding them is half the fun!

Which little treasure catches your eye?

All will be available, Etsy link in bio.
