We installed a refurbished cast-iron radiator in a customer’s kitchen today as part of a hot water boiler replacement. The refurbished radiator is replacing copper Finn baseboard that never worked properly because the majority of the home is heated by cast-iron radiators which can heat the dwelling at a water temperature of 120° to 140° where the copper baseboard requires 180° to 190° water in order to get the desired output that it’s rated for.

Homeowners in Maryland, that are BGE, DPL, Pepco or Potomac Edison utility customers can take advantage of the empower Maryland home performance program to make their home more efficient with insulation upgrades, HVAC system, upgrades, and domestic water heater upgrades. The rebates are up to $15,000 depending on the particular type of HVAC system. The customer has in their home.
