Here's a test. Stand inside your front door on a windy November night and put your hand along the edge — head, middle, floor. 🌬️
If you find the draft at the top or the bottom but not the middle, your door isn't the problem. Your hardware is. A single-point latch grabs the door at one spot and trusts the rest of the height to behave. On a Seacoast elevation in January, it will not behave.
Multi-point hardware pulls the slab tight at three points, so the seal holds along the full height of the door. It's the least visible upgrade in an entry and one of the most noticeable once you live with it.
The same logic runs through the whole assembly — sill and threshold detailed to the actual exposure, sidelights and transom engineered into the unit rather than framed around it later. An entry is a system, and it performs like the weakest joint in it.
Our Marvin Certified crews install these ourselves, because a well-specified entry installed carelessly is just a well-specified draft.
