ps - this coming Monday is (temporary) closing day for our store and gardens in Morris, CT. Plenty of bulbs, perennials, and shrubs still in stock for your 11th hour planting needs.

This year our store will re-open for weekends during the holiday season. Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays from 9-4, beginning November 20th. Lots of Amaryllis, Paperwhites, and other giftables will be on hand. We hope to see you!

It’d be hard to name a Tulip group that we don’t dabble in, but the Lily-Flowered group (the RHS’s Division 6 for those scoring at home) is a particular favorite. This flower form is particularly elegant and looks terrific en masse or sprinkled into a mixed planting. They’re mostly late-season bloomers with a huge range of colors to choose from.

Some last roguing and note-taking before digging ramps up. No hard frost yet but we’ll bump up against it this weekend, then a stretch of sunny and dry - harvest weather!

We have a number of Japanese Anemones in our gardens and ‘Honorine Jobert’ here, like ‘Robustissima’, toes the line of being too vigorous for its own good. That said, it sure is a lovely sight as the garden around it goes quiet.
