Morocco is surprisingly green and vastly agricultural: dates, olives, pomegranates, cedar wood and so much more I didn't expect.

Wednesday was another full day. Working backward: moonlight over the Sahara; my name in Arabic in the sand; mounting up; my trusty steed; traditional Berber music; amazing fossils from 400 to 570 million years ago. Tomorrow a long drive to Fes, then 3 days in the same hotel!

Who knew thst a recent trip to France would give me the gateway language for Morocco? Here are some early morning pics of Berbere Palace hotel in Oaurzazate. Two large movie studios here where a number of films have been shot. On to the Sahara today.

Have a free day while most of the group does a Moroccan cooking class. I'm out by the pool with my book and notebook while Dave Brubeck is playing.
Last night was our hammam visit and amazing couscous dinner. There are wonderful sights everywhere you look. This afternoon well go shopping in the souks. I already have a long list!

New speed record at the ATL: 35 minutes to park, catch the shuttle, get checked in at Air France and go through security. Having a light dinner since my flight won't lift off for another 3 hours. Stopover in Paris, then on to Marrakech.
What a birthday celebration!

A week on Martha's Vineyard is just magical. We had a massive group, 18-20 at dinner most nights! 1. Oldest grandson Nat, daughter Kelly, Nat's girlfriend Lila. 2. Farmer's market. 3. Telegram lighthouse, turnaround point for my morning walks. Sunrise. 4. Taking the ferry from Woods Hole to Vineyard Haven.

I had to buy a Remy since I've spent time in Provence this week. And a large suitcase because I'm a shopping ju**ie. I spent modestly for each item, but there were a LOT of them! I did buy a Roland Garros linen shirt that cost a few pennies, but it is so perfect.

I hope to take more fashion pics today in Avignon. The folks in the first shot are from SCAD, hosting prospective students for a week in France. Whaaaat? The last pic I just loved this guy's color blocking ensemble.

Part 2 of Provence tour.
Each town square, each 11th century castle is so charming. Colors so vivid you feel more alive just being there. We drove by the asylum in Remy en Provence where Vincent Van Gogh spent a year and saw pictures of paintings he made there against the actual settings. Inspiring.
