Behind a hidden door, iron and white oak floating stairs lead down to the “coolest” part of the house—pun intended. 😉 Exposed concrete walls set the tone, with recessed, backlit TVs and bookshelves tucked into thickened sections of the concrete walls.

Built with 16-inch concrete walls, PVC drainage positioned 5 inches below the lowest slab, ½-inch washed stone, liquid-applied flashing, drainage mat, and Synko-Flex waterproofed keyway joints, the details go well beyond what you see.

An escape hatch, prepper storage, Halo can lights, and a powder room with a macerator toilet bring function to this hidden retreat. A dedicated office desk offers a quiet getaway, while a sump pump sits recessed 4 feet into the concrete beneath a decorative grate.
