What actually goes into a flake floor before the topcoats ever go down?

There's a lot more to it than one coat of epoxy and some chips. This one starts with grinding the concrete down and builds up in layers from there.

Watch how this floor system comes together step by step.

Why does a college classroom floor need two layers of flake?

This one is built for heavy foot traffic and years of students coming through. So we're putting down a double broadcast flake system with two topcoats on top.

Here's what that build gives this floor.

You might recognize this place! 👀

We’re back at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), a school where we’ve already completed multiple flooring projects!

This time, we just finished a 3,600 sq. ft. custom two tone flake floor inside the new media room in RIT’s Art and Design building.

What do you think of how it turned out? 🔥

Why would a school put two different colors on one floor?

We're at RIT on a flake flooring project, and this is actually the third floor like this they've done. There's a reason the split keeps showing up.

Take a look at how it works in the space.

When a client keeps asking for the same floor in room after room, that usually says something.

We're back at RIT, this time in the art and design building, on a 3600 square foot two-tone flake job. It's going to be their new media room.

Here's where it stands and why they keep choosing it.

Not every epoxy floor is the same system, and the differences go way beyond color.

This is the sample board we bring to shows like the Rochester Home Show. It covers a few of the most common floors we install, from workshops to commercial kitchens.

Watch to see which one is our personal favorite.

More and more customers are asking us about metallic floors.

Before we pour one in someone's space, we make sample boards so they can see their colors come to life first. This time we made three for one customer, each with a different mix.

Watch them come together and tell us which one you'd pick.

Can anyone relate...?

Choosing colors for an epoxy floor is harder than it looks.

Pigments don't always play nice together, and what looks right in your head can come out totally different on the floor. That's why we don't guess on a custom blend.

Here's how we dial in a color before it ever hits your space.

Here’s a sneak peek at the step-by-step process behind creating our metallic sample boards.

Before any product ever hits the floor, we create multiple sample designs so our clients can see exactly what their finished floor could look like. From there, they can choose the style they like best, and we replicate that design directly on their floor.

It’s all about making sure the client knows exactly what they’re getting before we get started.
