WorK Architecture is a comprehensive, full-service design firm based out of Kentucky. As our client, you become a part of a collaborative design team.

WorK Architecture is a comprehensive, full-service design firm rooted in Kentucky. By focusing on client needs, we deliver design solutions that exceed expectations. We see the constraints and challenges of each situation; whether site-related, programmatic, or financial; as opportunities to create results. Our design maintains the unique spirit of each project, creating environments that function and inspire. Our small firm works closely with members of the project team and encourages involvement in all aspects of the design; from inception to completion. An office of our size ensures that all members are involved in, and are well informed of, the project details. WorK has a history of exceeding client aesthetic and functional design expectations while meeting budget constraints. As our clients can attest, this approach is one of our greatest assets. Our experienced staff ensures that environmental responsibility is of the utmost importance in every project. We utilize local resources and incorporate site-specific solutions beginning with site studies and extending to building commissioning. This environmental approach to design results in an unparalleled combination of creativity and sustainability in our projects. Our exciting practice is led by Mitchell Kersting. With our multi-faceted design experience, we have a comprehensive understanding of current technology, methodology, and materials. Regardless of scale or project type we pay meticulous attention to detail with a fine appreciation for craftsmanship.

What if you could hold the future of Downtown Louisville in your hands?

Commissioned by Louisville Downtown Partnership, Work designed and 3D printed a detailed model of Downtown Louisville—creating a physical tool for people to explore, imagine, and shape what comes next.

Now on public display, the model is more than a representation of the city. It’s a starting point for conversation, a tool for developers and community leaders, and an invitation to dream bigger about Downtown.

In this reel, Eric Whitmore, our Director of Framework, shares the thinking behind the model and how we hope it can help people see Downtown Louisville not just as it is, but as it could be.

Designing for what’s next.

As always, thank you to Louisville Downtown Partnership for the organization and for the opportunity for us to reimagine downtown spaces together.

Hard hats on! History in progress.

We recently welcomed AIA members to Liminal Apartments for a behind-the-scenes look at the transformation of this 137-unit, Mixed-Use, Historic Tax Credit and Adaptive Re-Use project.

Liminal is a great example of what’s possible when we preserve what matters and reimagine what’s next!

VOA Monarch Station Ribbon Cutting with no trending audio and a real POV so that you can be here too!

Always an honor to partner with organizations like Volunteers of America whose mission we strongly believe in and align with.

Good projects are built on good relationships.

From architects and builders to contractors, consultants, and everyone in between—bringing a large, complex project to life takes collaboration at every level. And sometimes, that collaboration looks like everyone breaking bread together on site.

Show us another jobsite where the whole team lunches like this.

Some buildings are worth preserving—not just for their history, but for their future.

We’re excited to kick off work on the Mayflower alongside Beacon Spirit of Christmas All Year Round | Affordable Housing, transforming this Louisville landmark into affordable housing and giving new purpose to a place that’s long been part of the city’s story.
