More than 2,100 recipe sites are being run by people who don’t exist, and the brands advertising on them may not even know it. I wrote about what this says about how AI is being used in the kitchen, why it makes me sad, and how home cooks can protect themselves. After two decades building for home cooks, I have some opinions.

Somewhere in Morocco, someone is running a baking website starring a busy mom named Elena, who says she wanted to connect with her roots through cake but felt overwhelmed by complicated recipes. Elena has a floral apron, a cozy kitchen, a family smiling around the dinner table, and the face of Emily...

Carving a pumpkin this year? Here's what you need to know to keep you and your kids safe.

https://bakespaceshop.com/blogs/bakecamp-news/how-to-carve-a-pumpkin-the-right-way-and-keep-all-ten-fingers

I just got back from the grocery store, and there were pumpkins everywhere. Stacked by the doors, heaped in bins, lined up by the flowers like they'd been waiting for someone to notice them, and I couldn't help myself. I walked over and put my hand on one. I haven't carved a pumpkin in so long, but....

Trick or Treat, That'll Be $16.96 Halloween is on a Saturday this year. Every kid in America figured that out around Labor Day. Every adult with a candy bowl is figuring it out right now, standing in the seasonal aisle, holding a bag of fun-size chocolate like it's a lab result. A 100-piece bag of H...

Raise your hand if you've ever been halfway through a recipe at midnight and realized there's no butter in the house. I wrote something for everyone who's been there, and for everyone who's certain AI has no business in their kitchen.

What the AI Recipe Debate Gets Wrong About Cooking With AI Every few weeks a food site runs the same experiment. A writer types a recipe request into a chatbot, or clicks through to one of those recipe generator sites with a suspiciously generic "About Us" page, bakes whatever comes out, and reports...

In a few weeks you're going to climb on a chair, pull down the recipe box, and find your grandmother's pie crust, the one written in pencil, made with lard, and ending with "bake until done," which is less an instruction than a dare. It was written for a family of twelve and a kitchen that ran all day, and it's going to need some help before it feeds your crowd this year.

I wrote about how our BakeBot scales, modifies, and translates the recipes we actually cook for the holidays, and why you should bookmark it before the card box comes down.

BakeBot.ai was created by BakeSpace.com.

I read a story this week about a caterer who uses Gemini to turn a recipe for four into a spread for two hundred, and the tech press covered it like somebody had discovered fire. I'm happy for him, truly, but home cooks have been doing this exact math on the back of an envelope, a receipt, and at le...

BakeSpace turns 20 on Saturday.

I meant to write a few lines about the milestone. But then twenty years of memories showed up all at once, and what came out instead was a letter to the version of me sitting in that second bedroom in 2006, about to launch a business with absolutely no idea what was coming.

I didn’t begin with congratulations. After twenty years, there were more important things I wanted her to know first.

It’s a little long. But twenty years is a lot of life to fit into a LinkedIn post.

Still skeptical about AI for cooking? Fair. 👩‍🍳🤖

The truth is, AI is most useful in the kitchen when it helps with the things home cooks actually deal with every day:

✅ Reading and explaining recipes
✅ Modifying recipes for swaps or dietary needs
✅ Importing recipes from photos, screenshots, or PDFs
✅ Suggesting substitutions when you’re missing an ingredient
✅ Looking at what’s in your fridge and helping with ideas
✅ Translating recipes from other languages
✅ Talking with you in real time while you cook
✅ Converting measurements into the units you use

That’s exactly what we built BakeBot.ai to do - make cooking easier, less stressful, and more practical.

If you’ve ever stared at a recipe and thought “wait… what does this even mean?” — this is for you.
