A great kitchen should never feel boxed in, especially when it has the expansive views of the Colorado landscape waiting right outside.
The original space had solid bones, but awkward angles and deep shadows kept daylight from reaching where it was needed most. The ambition here was simple: strip away the visual weight, reorient the footprint, and let the room breathe.
We introduced long horizontal runs of cabinetry to create clean, uninterrupted sightlines that naturally draw your focus through the home. Wood uppers and warm flooring bring organic texture against the crisp white surfaces.
Instead of relying on a single overhead fixture, thoughtful layers of recessed cans, a minimalist linear pendant, and cabinet lighting wrap every work surface in a soft, ambient glow throughout the day.
An elongated island now anchors the core of the room, turning what used to be a high-traffic pinch point into an effortless spot to cook, gather, and enjoy the view outside.
What once felt divided and dim is now an open, peaceful space shaped entirely by balance, light, and purpose.
