Functional Floors and Finishing was started in 2004 as a “Jack of all trades” flooring company. As we grew we soon found the importance and advantages of specializing. We focused on our strengths, interest and talent among our workforce in order to narrow our flooring services. This specialization has allowed us to provide our customers the absolute highest quality and expertise in hardwood floor refinishing, hardwood floor installation, vinyl floor installation as well as exceptional customer service. We feel it is very important to put a lot of our efforts toward earning the trust, long term loyalty, and referrals from our customers.

Felt pads under furniture legs stop scratches from dragging and shifting. Breathable rugs, placed once the finish is fully ready for them, spread out wear in busy spots. Once it is removed, the subfloor gets checked over before anything new goes in, since that step makes a big difference in how the finished floor looks and performs. Halloween is coming, and that means a lot of feet at your front door. 🎃

If you are handing out candy, put a mat down at the entry and sweep up the grit now and then. Small stones and dirt from the driveway are what scratch a hardwood floor, and a busy night can carry plenty in. A quick sweep at the end of the night keeps the floor looking good. More on our site.
