JMC Homes Residential repairs and renovations in Lewiston-Auburn and the surrounding towns. Safety of the family is always at he forefront of my work.

My name is Matthew Campbell, and I have over eight years of experience with home repairs and renovations on both new construction homes and homes over 100 years old. Having two young children myself, I am well aware of the risks that some elements of home repair and renovation can pose on the family, especially homes containing lead paint. Along side quality and professionalism.

It's been a while. I had been working on some personal projects all summer, but I was able to squeak out this deck before it got too cold.

This was a fun piece of engineering. Believe it or not, this is a floating deck 9 feet off the ground! Normally, a deck is attached to a structure, like your house, with a ledger board. A floating deck is not attached to anything and requires a bit more bracing to keep it stable. I won't bore you further with why we went this route, but if you're curious feel free to ask.

Big thanks to Joe Harrigan and Sam Scogin for your help with this one.

Another fun little project for the Maine State Museum: three exhibit walls. Built them on the ground then stood and anchored them to the floor and wall.

I'm excited to visit the museum when it opens later this year. Spoiler Alert: there's a giant whale skeleton that's pretty epic. And my buddy and his crew have been working hard building some sweet exhibit walls and centers, as well as a cool looking kids area that I know my kiddos will enjoy.

Finished this ADU conversion in Lewiston a few weeks ago, but was waiting to take pictures until after the homeowners furnished it.

This used to be an old garage with rotted floors, but the homeowners decided they wanted a source of passive income. Now it's a short-term rental that's a short walk to Bates and a slightly longer walk to CMMC.

What a fun journey and great learning experience this was. If you are interested in having an Accessory Dwelling Unit built on your property, or an existing structure converted, please contact me to get that process started.

It's been a minute, but I have not been idle.

Here's a little project helping out some friends who are expecting soon. This to-be nursery had the original wood floors with several layers of paint. Deeper layers revealed some lead paint. So instead of removing the floors, I encapsulated them by setting subflooring and gluing down some engineered hardwood. Looks great!

They also had drop ceiling concealing some rough, risky plaster. I removed the drop ceiling, tacked up strapping to secure the plaster, and hung drywall. Finished the ceiling with paint and a new fixture. The homeowners elected to paint the walls themselves.

A "simple" wall for an exhibit at the Maine State Museum. It was fun to be part of the museum's mad dash to open in October. I'll be back to help out with a few other items.

My office for the next few days. Helping out at the Maine State Museum by building exhibit walls. A nice change of pace.

Really happy with how this butcher block countertop came out at the Lewiston ADU project. I spent hours getting the butt end for the L and the cut out for the sink perfect. Still some tweaking to occur with the doors and drawers, but looking pretty good.
