Predator and varmint hunting

Sometimes you just have to drop the magazine, unload the chamber, and enjoy the show. These are just two of the many decent bucks on a property I’m working. Coyotes have been chasing the heard so I was hoping to call a few in. Only one last night but we got spotted and winded. Full moon didn’t help lol.

Finally getting back in the field after taking several months off. No luck today but you can’t kill them from the couch.

These boys haven’t been in the field for two months. They are about to jump the fence and go hunting without me lol. Hang tight we will hopefully get a chance to get out in July. Early morning stands should produce in my areas. Just gotta get past the heat, snakes and ticks 😳.

Nothing beats taking the family along on a coyote stand. Called in one before it hit 100 degrees in the California desert. Tomorrow I get an earlier start.

I’ve had a few bad weeks for sure. I think I’m overdue for a night hunt. Time to go feed a coyote some 22 Creedmoor!

Update: we have a taker. Stay tuned friends!

Going to head out for a few stands tonight. My decoy dogs are not going due to the massive mud puddles they would want to find and roll in🤣. Any of my local friends want to commit to join? Message me for more details. I have the gear and a little knowledge that I’m willing to share. First come first serve basis. Must be ready to roll by 9pm and able to stay out past 1am. Im no babysitter so you will be left in the desert if you fall asleep 😜.

Super pleased with the Christensen Arms MCR. 22 Creedmoor for the win at long distance. My 204 is a great cartridge too but I would have never taken a shot this far with that r***e. I ranged back to the Jeep with my handheld right where this big male dropped. Sorry for the crap photos, I left the GoPro at home cause this was a quick trip to test a new blue laser I added to this set up. Long walk and drag back lol.

New record! 477 yards for the 22 Creedmoor! That’s almost 4 football fields. Crazy long walk last night lol. The 69 grain ELD VT did its job and kept him down. Almost had a double with one shot 🤣. The thermal images were terrible last night due to the storms that came through.
