Since Meta is changing their terms to allow web scraping from external links from this page, I have removed my website link. But I’m sure you fine folks out there can figure it out. It’s just our name followed by .com .

By customer request, I have updated the Acrylic Rete with more named stars! They also have rings around them, to reduce ambiguity. While the stars haven’t moved a whole lot in the five years or so since I’ve been making these, the rete is updated for 2026.

Bristol runs on Solar Time! ;-)

This historic clock in Bristol actually tells two different times. 🕰️👀

The Corn Exchange clock has two minute hands on its face—one red and one black—because Bristol used to run on its own local time before railways standardised everything in the 1800s. Bristol was exactly 10 minutes behind London, which is why the black minute hand lags behind the red Greenwich Mean Time hand.

🕰️ The time of day roughly depends on your position in relation to the sun. Natural noon is when the sun is at its highest point. But because Bristol is two degrees west of Greenwich, it means noon in Bristol should be 10 past 12 in London.

📍 You can find the clock right above the entrance to the Corn Exchange building, which now houses St Nicholas Market.

Have you ever noticed the extra hand on this clock? 👇

Full Moon is beautiful, but hard to observe because it’s so gosh darn bright! Use one of our Moon Gazer’s Viewing Cards to cut down the glare and see more of the surface features. Keep it in your wallet, or give as a gift! Available on shopwavytail .com and wavytail. etsy. com.

I’m back from my travels, with a new Moon viewing tool to offer you! This sturdy aluminum card has a tiny hole in the middle, which cuts out the glare of a full moon. It’s then easier to see the surface features without straining against the brightness. Take it anywhere you go; it’s credit card sized. Pull it out whenever you see a bright Moon! The guide on the back shows you which features you’re looking at, and also marks the Apollo landing sites. Be prepared for International Observe the Moon Night later this year. And it’s small, affordable and ideal as a gift. Visit shopwavytail.com to get yours.

It’s that time of year again! I’m off to places less warm and sunny to see my folks for a few weeks. Please order by May 20 to ensure I have time to make your order before I leave. I’ll be back at the end of June. Thank you for your patience!

A shout out to my Japanese customers! One of whom told me they’d found me after reading this Manga; “Orb: On the Movements of the Earth”. So of course I had to get a copy. I’m half way through and it’s great! Astrolabes feature almost from page 1 :-)
