These homeowners found us on Houzz and came to their first meeting with Katrina carrying a photo of a kitchen they loved. There was just one surprise: it was one of ours.

We transformed their dated, closed-off kitchen into an open, modern space designed around the way they wanted to live. And when engineering issues and COVID-era supply delays complicated the project, we worked through them together.

The best part? They loved the experience and finished space enough to invite us back for another project.

Project Spotlight | A Whole-Home Transformation ✨

This whole-home refresh was all about creating a space that reflects the homeowners’ lifestyle and personal style. From herringbone tile throughout to a fully custom kitchen featuring natural walnut cabinetry, organic stone, and copper penny tile accents, every detail was thoughtfully designed to feel warm, cohesive, and timeless.

We were also able to use some of their existing patio space to expand the kitchen, which helped us a create a luxury kitchen experience with a generous-sized island and plenty of space to prep, cook, and entertain.

The primary suite received its own transformation with a spa-inspired wet room, complete with a soaking tub, built-in stone bench, pebble flooring, and an open, glass-free shower design.

The result? A home that feels elevated, intentional, and completely them — a reflection of how they live and what they love. 💛

Hosting season is the perfect time to see how your home really works. 🏡 From the flow between your kitchen and living spaces to guest accommodations and outdoor entertaining, the little things you notice when hosting can reveal opportunities to make your home more functional.

As you welcome friends and family, take note of what works, what feels crowded, and where improvements could make a difference. These observations can be the perfect starting point for planning a remodel that better supports your lifestyle, both during the holidays and year-round.

Here’s a few different things to think about:

🚪 Entry: Is there enough room and storage for arriving guests?
🍴 Kitchen: Can people cook, gather, serve, and move comfortably?
🥂 Dining: Can you seat the number of people you actually want to host?
🛋 Living spaces: Does conversation flow naturally between rooms?
🚦 Traffic: Where do people bump into one another or create bottlenecks?
🗄 Storage: Where does clutter accumulate when the house is full?
🛁 Guest bath: Is it convenient, comfortable, and representative of the rest of your home?
🛏 Guest rooms: Are overnight visitors comfortable and afforded enough privacy?
🌴 Outdoor spaces: Is moving between indoor and outdoor entertaining areas easy?
🏠 Overall layout: Are several of these problems connected?

Before you repaint the room, buy another storage cabinet, or start planning an addition, ask one question:

Is the problem actually the layout?

Sometimes, the most frustrating issues in a home come from the floor plan itself.

From dated and tight to bright, warm, and beautifully functional. ✨

By removing the soffits, reworking the layout, and introducing soft white cabinetry, wood flooring, and warm wood accents, we transformed this kitchen into a space that feels open and works better for the homeowners. A handmade neutral tile, pop of green, and stunning custom cabinetry hood bring personality and timeless character to this kitchen remodel. 💛
